Very easy to install on Mossberg 500. Just unscrew the barrel attachment, place the mount over the hole, and rescrew the barrel onto the magazine tube. The Picanniny mount works well, install light using the included Torx key. Secure mount, however the rail mount can bend, hence the 4 star rating on sturdiness. The hole for sling attachmant is very sturdy. Another good feature is that the mount does not cause any damage to the barrel, or magazine tube. Overall, great mount

Worked great on my mossberg 500

Seems to be a stiff high strength steel, well machined. Simple, functional design. Nice finish. It holds a small flashlight on the front end of a Mossberg 500 and it stays clear of the pump action.

Fits solidly on a Mossberg 500, 5+1 with stock forend. Good mount for a tactical light. Other reviews have noted that the sling mount is inconveniently positioned: I agree, I couldn't get it to work with mine, but the stock sling swivel on the takedown bolt still worked fine. The directions say to use pliers or a screwdriver to unscrew the lock washer from the takedown bolt. This didn't work for me, but since the washer isn't reused, I just tapped on the bolt with a rubber mallet to get it free without damaging anything except the washer. I'll try to remember to update this review after putting a few rounds through the shotgun.

Good solid flashlight mount……but, for my application the sling attachment is problematical. I put it on an older bone stock Mossberg 20ga and it fit great! I had a cheap clamp-on mount that held the light solidly but just too far out from the barrel, it was awkward to toggle the light on and off, not holding the light where my thumb naturally ended up when grasping the fore end. I’m using a compact pistol light/laser combo that’s only about 2” or so and the placement of the slot for the sling lets it get tangled up with the light or flop in front of the lens. I don’t think a longer flashlight style gun light would have this problem as much. Other than that except for the cost it’s a good product, I think it’s a little over priced but it IS made very strong and the design is clean and puts the sling on top of the gun which is much better than on the bottom, I don’t use the sling for shooting, of course, it’s only there so I don’t have to set the gun down or lean it against something if I need both hands so I’m trying different ways to attach it that won’t foul things up. All in all if you think it’s worth the money you aren’t getting ripped off or anything it’s well made and tough and will probably last a long, long time. W Buck
