Every Surface should have one!
Having purchased a new Microsoft Surface Pro I was more than a little disappointed with the plug. For a tiny, powerful laptop (which the Surface Pro is) the only bulky item is the plug, this meant that the power did not neatly fit in a small bag. After a quick search on Amazon I came across this collapsible plug which is well engineered and folds perfectly flat. Now my Surface Pro fits neatly in its bag with the power adaptor and plug! I have been using this for 2 months now and have no issues at all, the socket does not seem to be loosening which was my main concern (and why I waited to offer a review).Personally I think Microsoft could learn alot from ThinPlug and should ship this cable with all of their Surface product range.Great product and well worth the £10.

Very useful cable, but make sure that you are not removing a required earthing circuit.
Clever design that folds flat in a computer bag. I use a small rubber band to ensure that it does not deploy while stored. A little care is needed when inserting into a socket. Make sure your thumb is pushing the plastic red earth pin. It works flawlessly in the UK and Hong Kong, but requires a Euro adapter on aircraft and in foreign business lounges (have not tried a UK train yet). This problem is probably caused by there being no earth connection. I presume that an exposed earth prong would contravene health and safety regulations! There are also likely to be concerns regarding the additional use of a "figure of eight to shamrock" adaptor at the other end of the cable as most laptop chargers require a three pin connection to the mains. A leading UK high street retailer has recently withdrawn the sale of such conversion adaptors. The lack of an earth needs to be carefully considered before swapping this cable for your existing one with the conventional UK mains plug that provides earthing. Please check your charger's input requirements. The fuse holder is quite stiff and requires considerable force to rotate to open on the first occasion,. However, it eases somewhat after a few operations.

Grundig Yacht Boy replacement Power Lead
See also reply to email from supplier. Unfortunately the Jack on this lead is to large to fit the smaller socket in the Yacht boy radio so no use but have written it off as just bad luck. Can oly assume that these radios from time to time had differing jack points.

Broken red pin
Worked fine from February to October, but now the red pin has broken, and sadly can't be replaced on its own, so if they break after less than a year it's sub optimal for me.

Achieves it's design intention
I had been carrying a 2 pin European cable with a purpose made 13 Amp three pin adapter plug (That I purchased from Amazon) for several years now and grew weary of the 13 Amp plug pins pressing holes in the carry bag and generally 'getting in the way'.This product seemed to address that problem and in fact does so very well.Upside:Self evidently it folds flat and the wound up cable fits the travel bag well taking up much less space than the hideous UK standard 13 Amp 3 pin plug.Raising the folded flat earth pin is easy and can be done with a single hand and unexpectedly it is easy to plug into and out of a 13 Amp socket - I expected it to 'fold up on me' when I was plugging in but this does not seem to be a problem.Downside:It is odd that when I bought the product (December 2012) the vendor decided NOT to reveal either the length of the cable or the fact that it terminated at the other end with a 'figure of 8' socket (or is it called a plug?) and this may have been obvious to the initiated, but I did not know if I was going to receive a plug into which I would poke and screw down stripped back wires or what. The cable is about 1.5 metres in length and the terminator will probably fit most laptop chargers (figure of 8) and certainly does the Mac chargers just fine. The fold in/out mechanism seems to be loosening despite only being used for a few weeks and whilst this has not stopped it working (yet) one is a little worried that it may become too loose after a few months.Summary:A great space saver in a travel bag, very pleased with the product.

Great piece of kit!
One of the best plugs I've ever come across and it's very sturdy and incredibly well put together. Whoever said it didn't appear strong could not have tested how well it closes and opens and could not have seen how intelligently designed it is. A brilliant piece of equipment if you want to avoid damage by prongs!

Very clever design.
This is very clever and the folded plug is very light and compact (unlike the rival Slimplug). Unfolding the earth pin out is easy and it is firm enough to just plug in without any special technique. I like this a lot and I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't so expensive.
