Having recently replaced draughty old patio sliders with lovely new French Windows, and also a hardwood front door with a composite door, alongside a heating system upgrade we noticed a substantial increase in dampness in our loft and on our windows. Having looked around to see possible causes (yes, the lovely effects of great insulation) and resolutions I decided that getting roofers in to replace tiles with vented solutions was not for me. After all, we've been here 15 years and this has never been an issue before. The site I checked which had loads of great info about roof space in general recommended a dehumidifier as this is a growing problem as people insulate their houses better. Our house has 4 bedrooms, a study a utility room, a large living room, a kitchen and 3 bathrooms. I chose this unit specifically because it can cater for a 5 bedroomed house according to the manufacturers blurb. It's easy to use, really easy to use and understand. It is portable to a degree with the casters but it is quite heavy to lift. When switched on it uses about 225 watts of electricity so it's by no means a power hungry beast and of course that lessens as the humidity levels get under control and it needs to work less. The first few days saw the unit running quite a lot and we were emptying the 6l tank once or twice a day. This in itself quite shocked me. However after a week, the tank was barely filling up and the device was coming on less and less. It's all automatic and will switch on and off according to your relative humidity settings (RH) so you can literally leave it switched on all the time if you want.. It is reasonably quiet but not silent and on either fan setting (low or high) we have not found it to be intrusive or sleep disturbing. After one week, I can now report that the damp in our loft, which was running off the loft hatch and dripping onto our heads has more or less disappeared and this is WITHOUT locating the device in the loft even for a short while. We placed it on the landing outside the bedrooms and main bathroom and during the day left all the doors open to every room. The unit will draw the air from the entire house over time and remove the moisture very effectively. It comes with a 2 year warranty and I've now ordered some HEPA filters to see if that helps my mild asthma. Well done Meaco this is a first class bit of kit I never knew I needed. It might look pricey, but compare the cost of this to a new roof had the timbers rotted, or to the potential ceiling damage should the loft dampness seep through the insulation or to the constant job of wiping windows down to stop black mould and you have a very cost effective solution to dampness. It can also be used for clothes drying with the swing louvre, but we haven't tried this yet until I'm positive the dampness is under control.

This is an AWESOME machine! I 100% recommend - does a fantastic job of reducing the moisture in the air. ALSO purchased the HEPA filters (3 pack) - incredible! Once selected the ordering process was quick and easy with the dehumidifier delivered the next day. Simple and easy to operate it made drying the washing quicker and reduced the amount of condensation in the room. It’s very effective.

Great product and got a few years ago at good price. I have noticed that washing has dried a lot quicker when in the house and even just walking in to house after it's been running has just made the air feel better to breath in. I used to notice the humidity in the house when washing was put out to dry but this handy thing has kept the humidity to low. I have attached this to a smart plug which turns on when my humidity sensor detects the air humidity to be above 60%. Great product and worth the money i didn't on it to prevent condensation and damp. My only drawback would be it isn't the best to look at. More so because I place it centrally so even though it's small it's still just there visible to everyone when they come in.

Received my item in good condition, delivery was great as well. It was easy to setup, ease to use and it comes with a free HEPA filter. Ran the dehumidifier function for 4-6 hours and compared to room humidity to my humidity thermometer and it's identical. Able to see moisture being absorb in the water tank. Purifier works as intended, noticed that I don't sneeze or cough that much anymore due to allergies. Fan noise was okay for me when running the purifier mode, I was able to sleep with it on but the when running the dehumidifier mode, the fan noise is loud and since my model doesn't comes with fan speed options, probably just gonna use the dehumidifier mode on daytime. Product isn't too big and perfect for a single room use (rental room) and easy to travel with if you're moving from place to place. Looking forward to updating my initial review after 6 months of usage.

Very happy with the humidifier takes away water/moisture in the kitchen while cooking. Chose the Meaco because of features of air purifier which I've yet to use. Moves easy.

This model is excellent at its job. It is small and neat model that is easily portable but removes so much water from the atmosphere. Much more than my older less efficient machine ever managed. Strong and sturdy handle. Easy to use I was so impressed I bought another one so that while one is used to dry washing downstairs the other one can be used in the bedrooms. Added bonus- I don’t cough in the night anymore. Highly recommend!!

After talking to a friend of mine about how much damp there's in the air in my room , he suggested to me to buy this dehumidifier as he found it really effective ,easy to use and durable (he has been using it every day since 2016 !) I plugged it in as soon as it arrived and noticed the difference after less than 1 week ! The air is now drier and the space finally feels warm . My housemate tried it too and they also noticed a difference in their room after using it. If you don't mind white noises , this is the product for you !

Habe einen im Erdreich liegenden Keller, welcher im Sommer aufgrund der kühlen Wandtemperatur immer feuchte Wände hatte. Mit dem Meaco ist dies Geschichte. Hervorragendes Gerät. Vor allem Preis- Leistungsverhältnis super.

I bought it expensive and doesn't worth it, 12 litre very small and it's not true he is not quite very loud ! Waste of money! Doesn’t absorb well the humidity and it’s not true it’s not a 2in 1 he is not air purifier only déshumidificateur . Pro breeze brand much better and less expensive.

Very loud due to vibration through its plastic body . Very disappointed
