Philips Ultinon Pro9100 LED car headlight bulb (H4), +350%, 5.800K, set of 2

Very bright, and do not blind the incoming traffic! I use them for 14 months and they are still going strong.

Astonishing performance in a 7 inch glass lens reflector insert (ie. a parabolic reflector with the beam formed on the inside face of the glass lens). Using a Hella 7" insert you get a cut off line so sharp you could cut yourself with perfect kick up. These lamps throw a huge amounts of light forward and completely changes what you thought 50 year old lighting technology could produce. Impressive..Transformative in a small & light 1960's Italian exotic making night time driving feal much safer as forward vision is much improved and perhaps more importantly oncoming vehicles can see me coming. When your car weighs less than 1/3 of what a modern SUV weighs being seen in good time is a big safety plus.. The only downside is the purists complaining about the "modern" colour of the headlights...Benchmarked against some 5th & 6th generation Xenon headlights in modern Audi's at 15m against a white wall the 9100's light cut off is just as good and there are brighter hot spots with the Ultinon's 9100's but the Xenon's have the edge with a more homogenous carpet of light across the width, and wider beam coverage. Which is not surprising given 50 years of advancement in lighting design & technology. With the 9100's there is a slight halo effect above the cut off and spotty coverage immediately in front of the vehicle, which exists with a standard H4 Halogen lamp but is much less visible because there is just much less light. None of which is a detriment to the genral improvement in forward lighting which these lamps are capable of.If you can source the Ultinon Pro 6000's (which are the road legal in Germany version) for a good price I'd recommend them. With a claimed 230% more light versus the 350% of the 9100's they are just as good with very little to choose in light output. 6000's are generlly about 20% less expensive than the 9100's February 2023 prices. Running 6000's on a VW UP for 14 months with zero issues & impressed.Note:If your vehicle was UK registered before 1st April 1986 then retro fittted LED's lamps like the 9100/6000's are now road legal as long as they pass the MOT beam test (if your vehicle requires a test), a derogation for retro fitted LED/Xenon lamps was added to the MOT testers handbook by DVSA in March 2021.Otherwise these H4 lamps are not road legal which is dissapoiting as they work extremely well and are a big safety upgrade.Postive purchase recommendation if you've got antyhing that uses 7" glass H4 insert headlights, or a VW Up with their aneamic Halogens from the factory,

Ease of insulation

These Philips LED bulbs changed what my Honda Jazz can do at night! It's a literal day and night difference from standard halogens. I bought cheaper Philips LEDs before and they were nowhere near as powerful as these - it's worth spending extra!The car does pass MOT on the merit of the light pattern so no problems there but most importantly it's just quality, evenly-spread white light!

Installed in a Toyota Land Cruiser 120 Prado. H4 halogen bulbs swapped out and the improvement is dramatic. The light is much more focused and brighter. We will have to see about the longevity, only been using for a few days.

Fitted these bulbs in a VW T6 Transporter. Had an error message appear on the dash when full beam used. Bought and fitted a Philips CAMbus error adaptors for the H4 bulbs but this did not work so sent them back.
