Purchased the Creek Black wall light as shown in the advert picture. Electrician fitted light to front of house. Excellent light, gives off good light, looks great and works as it should.

Good quality
Well made and good quality. Super bright with the right bulb. It's a good size and nice white colour. Wiring all hidden away and great value.

It's a pretty little lantern.....but.... Please note position of the screw holes!
First one arrived and seemed sturdy and the design looked just the part ....but it was damaged! Got a very quick replacement via Amazon which seemed perfect until I came to fit it. For some bizarre reason the screw holes to fix to wall aren't level. I hadn't checked this as I was using a line by the wire entry hole as a horizontal guide. So, when I came to fit the screws to my drilled holes the lantern was very crooked. Stupid design as no reason for this, but stupid me for not checking. So take two, I was very careful to match my drill holes with the holes in the lamp and also make sure it would be level once fitted (not as easy as it should be!). Next was wiring in which was ridiculously fiddly even with my small woman's fingers. Then I came to fitting the lantern body which threw me another curve ball as the holes on the front plate of the lantern didn't match the position of the bolts on the base. (Aaaarrrggghhh!) If I fit the main body as it was, the whole thing was o a 45% angle! So, for a third time I had to remove the base plate and the drill the main fixing holes. That done I fitted the body of the lamp so that it finally sat level. But it had one last trick in store...because the holes were so out of line, one but only just fit on below the "lid" of the lantern. The nuts and washers are so tiny it would be very easy to lose them. They need to be tightened using a very small spanner or similar tool which easily marks the the black coating and one is so close to the "lid" that it was almost impossible to fit. That wasn't the case on the first lantern I received so you could get lucky and receive an undamaged light with holes in sensible places! I liked the lantern enough that I persevered and got it up but it took ages and I'm an experienced diyer. Photos are before I bought an Edison bulb which looks lovely in it. This light has no motion censor so I can't rate thatand the brightness depends on the bulb fitted surely?! Despite all this I'm glad I bought it. It's a very reasonable price for an all metal lantern with real glass panes, similar items were 3 or 4 times the cost. Also check the dimensions as it's smaller than you'd think. I read reviews first and a fair few had been caught out. It's the perfect size for where I wanted it and I love the design. Despite all the hassle I love it.

For a little more money, massively better than a cheaper product!
I should have known from Philips. . Like many of us I have a long and chequered history with outside lights. Cheap ones with bendy plastic fittings, unusable bulb holders at bizarre angles, sliding uncontrollable sharp glass panels, and lanterns which will only go together with what seems far too much force. This time I spent a little more money. . . The unit fits together logically and easily. The electrical side, though cramped as always, is of good quality and the lantern is a joy to behold. It's excellent - I've learnt my lesson. Please don't repeat what I did - buy the Philips first time around, and save yourself the grief!

Great Purchase
This lamp looks good and works well. I found it straightforward to install although owing to the age of my cottage, the wire colours did not match. This info was obtainable on-line.

Nice to look at, not sure how long they will last
These are not bad lamps, but I am not wholly convinced that they offer good value for money. I purchased them at £23.00 each and they have now increased to £24.56 on 19th October 2019. It goes with our question that they will be simple to fit, providing that you have wiring in place, which we did and therefore, apart from drilling two new holes, wiring and fitting was relatively simple. What I have noticed is the quality of the materials used to construct these lamps has fallen, with the alloy becoming lighter and thinner and the glass replaced by perspex; which will cloud over after a couple of years. I really like Philips products, but this item apart from carrying the Philips name does not follow their tradition of Philips quality. The description states that they have undergone rigorous tests to prevent ingress of water. Well no water has got into the two lamps we have installed, but the seals are poor, but perhaps more importantly, the real issue with water and these types of lamps is that you ensure that you use sealant after installation around the edge where the lamp base meets the wall - this is where water tends to enter and affect the connection.I can confirm that you can use standard bulbs or as we have done, LED bulbs, both of which work well.In terms of adjusting the sensitivity of the lamps, this is fairly standard across all of these lights, there is a screw to adjust the sensitivity for movement and one for the length of time that the light stays on. Both controls adjust easily and work well.Overall I have awarded this item 3 stars. They are not bad items, however, I do not feel that the build quality warrants the price, indeed I have reduced the rating from 4 stars simply due to the fact that they have risen in price over 6% in the 5 weeks since I purchased them.
