Excellent bit of kit
Slight delay on delivery but not a problem. Product was well packed and protected. Easy to follow guide. Functions well. I'm going to use this as a portable PSU and a UPS fir my IT equipment. It does have a slight delay swapping from mains to battery however tried it with my DS Synology NAS drive and continued to work fine. Also I like that the unit can be locked using the handle, if necessary. Very quick to charge up from the mains. The only negative is the cooling fan is slightly noisy when it is on, I would say a little bit noisier than a laptop fan. The app. is great and customer service was excellent (asked about using the unit in small spaces as concerned about any gases given off during charing/discharging but was assured it was 100% safe). Overhaul, extremely pleased with this power station.

Super convenient quality product
I purchased this unit at an excellent price of £411 new. It is very well made and easy to use. It charges from 0% to 100% in just an hour and has a very useful and informative and clear status screen detailing output and estimated battery time remaining. It can also be controlled via the Ecoflow phone / tablet app. It seems very accurate and reliable. It has numerous versatile outputs which all work very well. I run a full computerised astrophotography rig using this battery with multiple devices pulling around a constant 27Watts. The battery lasts for a full two nights, equating to around 17 hours of usage. So far it has proved 100 percent reliable and is a good deal lighter than a traditional lead acid battery. It also trumps a lithium Ion battery, as it is lighter, charges faster and is less chemicallly volatile, avoiding the risk of overheating and potential fire. When the unit is under high load a cooling fan engages. This is not too noisy and is unlikely to disturb anyone more than a few feet away. So far I highly recommend this battery.

Brilliantly powerful battery
Just took this away camping it was brilliant. No more worrying about devices dying and I was even able to run a heated blanket on it for the night time. Excellent product. Charges up as quickly as it says.

The best new solar battery to own
Jan 2024 Update: taken 1 star off as similar to my feedback on the Delta Pro, fan management is really poor and machine is just too loud. Other than that unit’s been operating flawlessly. This is the 2nd EcoFlow solar batteries I’ve owned and they are quite something! The previous being top of the range Delta Pro and this new version of portable River2 solar battery compliments its big brother nicely. If you saw their promo video, the new River 2 series are built to last, not only by the long lasting LFP batteries (3000 cycles to 80%/ 10years life even with full daily charge/discharge) but also literally can handle impact / fire / light rain torture tests. EcoFlow provides 5-year warranty for this series too which is great assurance. My user case is a lot civilised only to power my office with an M1 Pro 16’ with a 4k 32’ monitor plus charging up other electronics so I didn’t go with torture testing. I also don’t use DC so this is not tested either. I’ll not spend too long on build quality / customer service etc. as EcoFlow is probably the top player and both reflected well. Now moving to reasons why I really love this River2 Max unit, considering I also own 3 Ctechi portable solar batteries already:1st and foremost is the rich info LCD displays all key info we need such as input/output wattage / remaining time running or charging / percentages etc which were all missing from Ctechi units;2ndly, EcoFlow App allows us full control of the unit, anywhere anytime! It is really good app don’t have any complaints from me and works for both my units;3rdly, one key issue I had with Ctechi was its aggressive USB-C cut out that I can’t use it to run my Mac as it constantly cuts in/out non-stop while EcoFlow River2 runs my Mac as if it is plugged into the wall with the 140w brick that I can even leave it on overnight; Finally, some random bits: it has pure shine wave ac output (2 sockets) up to 1000w can run most of things, efficiency is just under 90%, portable enough can be used for camping trips, 1-usb-c 100w PD both ways (meaning you can charge it up via usb-c), DC outputs. On some small negative side, I’m not a fan of the design with the handle protruding at the back of the unit although it sits nicely on my windowsill flash and the flat top unit to place things (why not implement a wireless charger for example)… also that the fan still on slight loud side (maybe I’m too spoiled with M1 Pro silent machines) I wish EcoFlow can optimise it with future firmware updates. Oh also very annoyingly there’s no MC4 to XT60 cable so if you were like me prefer to use solar will have to purchase separately! For the price I’d expect to have it as minimum… you can see my screen shot from the app, I’m charging it at 100w from Ctechi battery AC outlet as waiting for the cable to come.To wrap up, previously Ctechi’s solar batteries would be my no.1 price/performance choice but the entry level River 2 would now just edged them with much richer functionalities and better technical execution that sits nicely in £250 mark. It is a worthy unit to have and would come handy either to supplement your existing solar batteries or to explore solar living plus added portability for camping etc., not to mention any short term blackouts!
