Excellent LightwaveRF product as usual
If you’re looking for a true smart home with neat and easy access to home control then LightwaveRF is ideal. Customer service and technical help is great if you get stuck. I wouldn’t be without it and have recommended it to all family and friends.

Needing it's own hub in this day and age is absolute madness
I bought this to install under a canopy where I had an inflatable hot tub. I wanted to be able to control the on/off timings, as well as monitoring energy consumption. The socket was very expensive, I thought that was on account of the energy monitor, so went ahead with the purchase. I'm not impressed, it is advertised that it works with Alexa echo etc. but what it doesn't tell you is that it needs a separate hub, which is about £100. Utter madness. In this day and age where there are hundreds of manufacturers connecting directly to the likes of Tuya or Tapo apps, and no additional hardware, these lunatics are charging 2 arms for a socket, and then asking you to buy a hub. Thanks for that, I'll take my own trousers down, good Sir. It also doesn't fit into a standard IP rated enclosure. I had to cut a bit of each edge. So now I'm left with a product I can't return, that cost a fortune, and doesn't do what I want it to do.... Time for a beer. 😅

Couldn’t be further from what I ordered unless they sent a turnip
I ordered a new 2023 model socket (Gen2). What arrived was a used Gen1 socket with a QC date code from 2012. I have a number of Lightwave products and they are great, but be incredibly careful if ordering from this listing what you receive and make sure it’s correct. This is the same price as LightwaveRF direct so personally, I’d just order from there.

Intermmitent
*** Not bought from Amazon *** I previously had Lightwave plug-in units and they worked for years. When they failed I finally decided on the Lightwave smart sockets even though two twin sockets and a hub were expensive. Installation was straight forward, they look good and no problems with the app. But now each of the sockets have one outlet that intermmitently stops working. They stay powered on even though the lights say it is powered off. Leave it overnight with nothing connected and it starts to work again. Overheating? The load on the socket is at most 200W, nowhere near its rated load. This is what I dreaded about these sockets, even though one outlet may fail it is expensive to replace the twin socket and not as quick as replacing a plug-in unit. It is always the case with electronics, some units go on forever and others fail quickly. If the outlets fail but in a power-on state I will replace with plug-in units.
