The quality of the picture is not good enough and the light is not strong enough to see something in dark areas.

This does OK but not wonderfully bright and difficult to see where you are. Used it to inspect a sewer pipe to ensure an unused pipe was blocked off correctly. Worked OK for that. Good value for money however

I bought this item to investigate a super slow water leak. After skooting around like a mouse under floor boards for an hour I can honestly say that this device performs very well and I now know that the leak is not under the floor boards (without ripping them up!). The built in light is excellent and the camera performance is all I needed. Good value for the money.

Having thought about buying an endoscope in the past, for checking some awkward parts on my several old cars. I had always been put off by the high price of a good quality one. So it was with some scepticism that I ordered this. But I needed one and this was within my budget if it didn't work. It arrived in record time and was well packed, but the driver's disk was broken. A quick e-mail to the seller resolved this when they sent me, by return, a link to a web page where I could download the drivers. Installed them on an old laptop I had decided to use just for this purpose and checked the workings of the camera. This appeared OK.I them used it to check the cylinders on one of my cars which I believed had a blown head gasket.The quality of the picture was far better than I had expected, although the 6 cm. minimum focal distance was not as close as I would have liked the digital zoom function took care of that problem.Also the ability to form a tighter bend would have been a help, but again not a major problem.The most impressive bit for me was when I found the problem by managing to totally submerge the camera head. A quick wipe and no problems at all. So all in all a much better product than I had expected to get and great value for money.

The delivery was fantastically fast, great on this score. My problem is that the CD with the software you need, looked as if someone scratched and put a sticky substance on it so I could not install the software and therefore not use the camera. I downloaded the drivers from the manufacturer's website but that is of no use without the application which I could not find. Customer support, hmmmm not a good experience for me at all, I found them evasive and frustrating. Poor English is used so I assume they are sitting in a foreign country. Their e-mails via Amazon, are short to say the least and not forthcoming with answers to my short specific questions. Note that the link they send as a fix is for German documents and you will struggle to find their contact numbers. A lot of time was wasted because of Customer Support inability to answer questions.As for the Snake Scope pack. I have Windows 7 on my two year old laptop. I get a message saying there is a problem every time I exit the software, it is irritating but I'm going to struggle on because I'd rather do that than cope with their Customer Support.If you have to work in confined spaces then it is not as easy as you may think and this product may not work for you. OK the camera (front) is narrow BUT the about first 10cm is not flexible and even after that, their is not a lot of flex in it so you do need a lot of space if you are going around corners. To give you an idea. I'm searching for a water leak under floorboards. I started drilling 12mm holes thinking that will be enough, well it is not because you can't bend it. At the moment I'm drilling holes with a 6 cm diameter and find even that tight so I will be cutting out MUCH bigger holes so I can fit my arm in as well to 'steer' the camera.The camera comes in a sturdy box and it looks and feels like a solid bit of kit. I have my doubts as to how long the very small buttons on it's handle will last but, the do feel solid. On my laptop's screen I get a window of about 12cm x 12cm (the default ?) with the picture on and I am impressed with the picture. A BIG plus point of the USB cable, it is much longer than your arm so it is additional length available to you, if your arm can follow it in. Note that the handle may not be waterproof so don't take that part for a swim !!!

feels solid, works well. for inspections of smaller areas, where you need not reach very far. only limitations: cannot go around narrow bends (but neither can others I guess), not useful for inspections of longer pipes etc.. Great if you want to investigate an area under floorboards etc.

I bought two of these one each as gifts for my son and son-in-law. Both have told me they are excellent - both use linux OS on laptops - and easy to set up and use. Son is building a kit car so will be fantastic for looking at hard to get at places. Son-in-law loves just looking where you can't normally see...... work it out for yourself. getting one for myself now!
