Beautifully illustrated board book
This beautifully illustrated board book is a delightful read for children and adults alike. The story of Zog is engaging and full of charm, with vibrant colors and sturdy pages perfect for little hands. It’s an excellent choice for bedtime reading or to spark a child’s imagination during the day. The gift edition adds a special touch with quality printing and presentation, making it a wonderful present for young readers. Our son, who has autism, responds well to the rhythmic storytelling and bright illustrations, making it both enjoyable and comforting. A lovely addition to any child’s book collection.

Even better than Zog!
I’m writing this review because my 3 year old was pretending to be a doctor. Without any prompting she stated she was being princess Pearl from Zog. She has never pretended to be a person before so this story and the character of Pearl has obviously stuck with her. We read this book in the library together and we liked it so much that I brought it. I like that Pearl is a good role model for young girls, the story is fun and the illustrations appealing to young children. We’ve been reading Zog (the 1st book) to her since she was 2 and she asks for this one regularly too. Brilliant book, in fact I think it’s even better than Zog.

An essential addition for child's book shelf
Great story to add to any child's collection. Bought this as a gift for a baby as my own daughter loves her copy. We have had it for years now.

Great book for Julia Donaldson fans
The media could not be loaded. This story has all the hallmarks of Julia Donaldson, with a pleasing rhyming structure, repeating themes and detailed illustrations. I particularly love the classic ‘medieval dragon’ tropes that this story focuses on, and my daughter learnt to ask for ‘Zog’ soon after hearing the name a couple of times. There are plenty of colourful things and details to look at on each page. I found that the woodland setting is similar to that of the gruffalo which probably felt familiar to my daughter too, and provides plenty of things to try and spot while reading on.There at plenty of lessons to take from the story, including trying even if you don’t succeed first time round as well as being the person you want to be. All nice messages to grow up with. The hardback version of this book feels high quality and sturdy enough to withstand a toddlers handling of it.No faults to be had with this book. 5 star all round.
