The Didgeridoo Paperback – May 16, 2006

I already wrote review, but oh well. That's Amazon for you.My husband liked this extremely well. He has a lot of playing it as a noisemaker on New Years Eve. If I weren't so lazy I'd figure out how to transfer a picture here. He was so cute ;;--)) in his top hat and kilt and not so cute Birkenstocks.He loved this gift very much. Our nephew really liked getting one, but I don't know how he liked playing it.To me the sound is very nice. It's sort of a low booming growl, if that makes sense. But not too low, it does sound like real music. Of course it has many tones.I guess I don't have much else to say except buy one and try it out. Having lots of songbooks helps too, although I've never seen anyone actuall play a well-known song.Makes a wonderful gift. Who wouldn't enjoy a gift like this, even if they don't use it? For that matter it looks pretty hanging on a wall. And the case is beautiful and would be great for holding something like a yoga mat. So what could be better than a gift that is fun and useful even if you don't play it?I hope you'll consider putting this concept into practice. I mean the idea that the best gift is one that is useful even if the recipient doesn't use it.Obviously, I recommend highly.

I bought my boyfriend a didgeridoo and this book to go along with it. I haven't given it to him yet, but I am very pleased, it is very instructional and the CD looks great! It's definitely better than I thought it would be. The only bummer is it's kinda thin and everything is on black and white...

I think all Mel Bay books are good. This one has information about buying, repairing, and playing the didgeridoo. It has everything I needed to know.

This,like all Mel Bay books, is one of the best ways to teach yourself an instrument. It progress well and explains in a simple and easy to understand fashion. I wish I would have purchased this before getting my first didgeridoo because it explains a lot about the instrument that is helpful in picking your first one.
