Q: Will the baby be able to see the cards from a lying position?

Yes. You would not place the baby directly under the mobile but lying about a foot in front of it or to one side of the mobile so he can see the cards. The mobile with the cards are about one to two feet away from the baby. They are large so the baby can see them easily. I interchange the cards with cards that I make or with stuffed animals from his jungle gym. Now I am also making origami birds and flowers to hang from the mobile.

There's 10 clips total. I use it for the baby image cards and it works great.

Q: I'm looking for a way to display 10 art glass balls. If I balanced then do you think this would work if I removed the clips and use fishline for balls

If you take .047 Music Wire (you can get it at Hobby Lobby much cheaper than Amazon) and affix one each to the two main supports, it will hold a decent amount of weight without bending into a useless 'U' shape. I used tiny thermal plastic beads to afix the wires. But, honestly, I think if I had just used a few pieces of hvy duty clear packing tape it would have worked equally well.

Q: Will these damage the photos?

They clip very tightly so pictures will not fall out. The clips have teeth and may damage the photos. I could just reprint photos if I need too. I like that I can update the photos easily.
