This is a sturdy, good looking, and well functioning latch lock. I had some problems installing it. The instructions are not very detailed. I had to watch videos and read about it online. I contacted the US company twice for tech support and got no response. I then contacted the Australian company and got the help I needed. They sent me more detailed instructions and responded right away. After the lock was installed correctly, it works perfectly and I love it.

I needed a latch for my vinyl gate leading into my garden that my very clever dogs couldn't figure out. This gate latch is perfect. It's also very durable and with the proper tools easy to install. I also love that it self latches when the gate closes.

Excellent Product

First, the latch is great, works perfectly, is well made and simple in its operation. But the directions made what should have been a very easy install much more complicated. The “directions” are just a series of photos and what is lacking is a brief explanation of each step. Mainly, the pieces that actually mount of the fence which are detachable from the mechanical parts should only be used for locating the pieces and as a guide for drilling the holes for the mounting screws and the larger hole for the rod. Then they should be put back together with the mechanical pieces which get installed as one piece. Since there weren’t any actual directions, I didn’t realize this and first installed the mounting pieces and then tried to add the mechanical pieces which won’t work. After I tried and spent several minutes trying to figure out what I hade done wrong, it became obvious that the pieces need to be fully assembled once the mounting holes and the rod hole is drilled and then installion is very simple. It appears that these units are for professional fence workers as on the website they mention this several times and nothing about retail customers.
