The taste is not great but it’s not such a big deal
When I first tasted the unflavored product, I braced myself for a bad flavor based on the reviews here. But after trying it, I couldn’t help but laugh to myself - “these guys have clearly not had to prep yet for a colonoscopy” lol (aka under 45). The flavor is super easy to mask with juice and the benefits far outweigh the taste so this is a win for me. Love this product and happy to be getting clean ingredients. I’ll definitely keep buying it.

💪 Clean, Powerful, and Worth the Taste!
Yes, the taste is a bit like vinegar and bitter — but if you mix it as a quick shot with about 2 oz of water, it’s fast and easy to drink. I was honestly hesitant to order this after reading the reviews, but I’m so glad I did! I’m vegetarian, and since I started taking this, I’ve noticed I can lift heavier and actually see muscle growth. Of course, I’m intentional with my macros and training, but this supplement has made a huge difference. Sure, you can find EAAs full of artificial flavors that taste better, but if you care about clean ingredients, this is the one. I highly recommend it. (Pro tip: I take the shot, then follow it with a sip of kombucha — resets the palate perfectly!)

Lead content for Brand
First - I have tried both the lemonade and the unflavored. To say that either of those flavor descriptions are accurate is grossly overreaching. They both have the most bitter taste profile I have ever had in my life. Absolutely disgusting. Nothing can hide it either. Now on to the more disastrous point of the interview is company rep. Yikes. I wish I would have known (read as I did NOT do my research so this is my fault and I will not be asking for a refund): In October 2025, Consumer Reports published an investigation into heavy metals in protein powders and shakes, with key findings for Naked Nutrition's Vegan Mass Gainer: The Vegan Mass Gainer had the highest lead levels of all products tested, with one serving containing 7.7 micrograms. This amount is roughly 1,570% of Consumer Reports' recommended daily level of concern (0.5 micrograms). The company responded that independent third-party testing confirmed their products did not exceed FDA reference intake levels for heavy metals. It also noted that the Vegan Mass Gainer has a larger serving size than many other plant-based powders. Broader context on heavy metals in supplements The issue of heavy metals like lead is widespread across the supplement industry, especially in plant-based products, due to how plants absorb metals from the soil. Contamination source: Lead can enter the supply chain through contaminated soil, groundwater, and manufacturing processes. Higher risk for plant-based: On average, plant-based protein powders have been found to contain significantly more lead than dairy-based alternatives. Federal regulations: In the United States, dietary supplements are not reviewed or tested by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for safety before they are sold, and there are no federal limits for heavy metal content. Safety recommendations: Experts caution that while these levels may not cause immediate harm, lead can build up in the body over time. Long-term exposure is linked to health problems, and no level of lead is considered safe. What this means for Naked EAAs Although Naked EAAs were not specifically named in the October 2025 Consumer Reports study, the findings for a different Naked Nutrition product are still relevant. Naked EAAs are also a plant-based, vegan supplement, which places them in the category found to have higher contamination risk.

5-stars after switching to the unflavored product.
I’ve previously purchased Naked Whey (vanilla) and absolutely loved it, it’s one of my favorites on the market and I decided to give their EAAS a try. They make for a great intra-workout, helping aide in performance in the gym while keeping your appetite at bay. The product dissolves easily which has been important to me as I mix it with an electrolyte mix for natural flavor (I tried the mango flavored one by Naked, it’s pretty rough, so sweet it makes your face pucker. Unflavored is the way to go.) Overall I feel this is a high quality product and when you but the unflavored version, the scoop is much smaller and the product lasts longer, making it a higher value for your money. I’d highly recommend.

Decent flavor & low calories
Pros: - nice lemonade flavor - tastes sweet - not too much sugar - mixes & dissolves easily - gives you energy if you take it as an intra workout drink Cons: - Monk fruit extract makes it taste kinda fake - Has a semi fake sweetener taste

I hate the taste.
I hate the taste. I can only hope to get through the container before the expiration date. I would never buy this brand again. It could be me.

Clean and reliable source of Essential Amino Acids for your whey protein shake!
Excellent product. Since it contains all the essential amino acids that all humans need (our bodies do not make them; we must get them from food), I feel it is very, very helpful to add this (2 scoops) to each whey protein shake for that extra muscle building and recovery nutrition which, after a good exercise session, makes me feel better recovered. I also like how the ingredients are only the essential amino acids. By the way, when you use this, consider adding to a good flavored whey shake as this can be a little tiny bit of a "metallic-like" taste (which I believe most people will get used to it. I did). I use a Whey powder for a shake that has NO artificial sweeteners and I drop in the blend a single square piece of 80% caco/chocolate, add blueberries and cherries, and the Naked EAA and I can't taste the EAA at all. I use this product very often and trust it.

Noticeable improvement in recovery after heavy lifting
I started using NAKED EAAs Amino Acids Powder to support recovery after intense, heavy lifting workouts, and I’ve genuinely noticed a difference. Muscle soreness doesn’t linger as long, and I feel ready to train again sooner than before. I like that it’s clean, unflavored, and easy to mix into water or a shake without any artificial additives. Simple ingredients that do exactly what they’re supposed to do. Great option if you’re training hard and want better recovery without unnecessary extras.

Found my usual EAA way too sweet. Mixed this into a container with the EAA and it's a great way to get the same dose with far less overpowering sweetness. Not sure this would work on its own, given how sour the taste is, but adding a salty electrolyte would help.

Easily dissolvable and mixes well with juice, water and electrolytes.

I was overwhelmed by the awful, bitter taste, like many of the other reviewers. I don't know if I'll be able to get past the taste. I wanted to gag. Those who have, seem to be happy with the results. I will give it another try with the suggestion of taking it as a shot, then chasing it with a sip of kombucha, or another beverage to reset the palate.

Hey virtual friends, I’ve been using these amino acids before going to the gym, and I can say it’s a solid product from a reputable brand. I trust the quality, and I believe it does what it’s supposed to do. The only downside is the flavor its extremely bitter, almost like drinking iron. It’s not something you can enjoy sipping; I have to take it quickly and get it over with. Overall, I think the effectiveness outweighs the taste, but if you’re sensitive to flavors, be prepared.
