Everything You Need To Know About Colloidal Silver Paperback – February 22, 2013

The book is written in everyday English, so its not hard to understand and (at least for me) you don't have to stop reading to look up words constantly as one sometimes has to do when learning a new (to them) subject or doing more in depth reading.The writer does stress at different points lots of common sense, such as if you have irritation to stop using it. He plainly explains what some of the most common side effects maybe AND why they (may) occur, if they do. Though I feel this part should be slightly expanded, it doesn't have to be.It leaves the new learner's with 99% of most questions about COLLOIDAL SILVER answered, and most are answered in an expanded way so those already familiar find they too have learned something new.This is one of five books I bought through Amazon Kindle Books when I was first introduced to COLLOIDAL SILVER. One was written in a hard to not only understand but hard to read. When five words would've been fine, they used 35 instead of obscure unused or no longer used words and was very very dry. Another was written by someone who felt the need to talk down to people. Another too simplified. A medical text book from 1930's UK, which I very much enjoyed, BUT so big it's very hard to find things in again even with the coloured highlights and not taking. Its basically a very expanded version of this book and written by doctors. But this is my favorite book of the five. Large enough to explain everything it should, small enough to easily find certain parts again, beautifully written, easy to read, easy to understand.

This might have been titled "the only book you'll ever need about colloidal silver". The only thing I would like to have seen that was missing is a copyright date. I like to be able to place certain discoveries and facts in time. I'd also like to know where to buy the oratates and arginates the author references. I've never heard of them before, but I've long suspected that the reason taking calcium pills doesn't work for osteoporosis is that the whole spectrum of necessary minerals need to be ingested for any one of them to work. I have yet to find any mineral supplement that contains everything, however.Anyway, while the author's directions on how much to take differ from what's on my bottle, I'm compromising and combining the two--three teaspoons a day for the first week, from the bottle label, and two teaspoons a day thereafter. It will soon be flu season here and I want to be ready, but I didn't want to take too much either, as I've been using sterling silver tableware for decades and I suspect I probably get a bit of silver from that every day.Overall, this is a very valuable book for an uncertain future in the medical realm which seems to be imploding at least in terms of medical personnel doing everything from changing careers to committing suicide. I liked it so much I'm going to go look up the authors other titles.

Everything You Need To Know About Colloidal SilverBy Max CrarerWhile this book certainly has a lot of information in it, some of it is accurate, but some of it is grossly inaccurate, which can mislead the reader.As an example, “Because it is in a colloidal state (or ionized) Colloidal Silver is absorbed in the mouth, throat and stomach. Therefore it does not harm friendly bacteria or enzymes in the intestines.”First of all, making what the author, Max Crarer, is calling Colloidal Silver via electrolysis, is not colloidal at all. He gives the proper definition of a colloidal suspension in the book, but then refers to what is an Ionic Silver solution as being colloidal. It is an ionic solution of silver atoms that are stripped of their electrons during the electrolysis process. He correctly points out that drinking high qualities of Ionic Silver, especially if made with tap water, or with an additive of salt, will cause Argyria. This is absolutely true.As far as not harming the friendly bacteria in our intestines, goes… absolutely false. Bacteria is bacteria whether good or bad as far as Ionic or Colloidal Silver is concerned. The truth is, most of the Ionic Silver doesn’t even make it to our intestines. It wants to immediately obtain an electron from everything it meets from the moment of ingestion. That would include, hydrogen, oxygen, chlorides, salts, and minerals already in our bodies. When it gets to our stomachs, it reacts with the hydrochloric acid in the stomach which produces silver chloride.  Silver chloride is very insoluble, so a part of the ionic silver precipitates as silver chloride crystals, which have no therapeutic properties.  The remaining silver ions have a positive electrical charge making it attracted to the first healthy human cells it comes into contact with.  This will cause the bulk of the silver ions to be immediately removed and sequestered in the cells of the stomach and intestinal tract first by entering the cells via the ion transport channels. But some will remain, and be absorbed into the blood stream.  The ionic survivors will next be transported to the liver where more of them are removed to be excreted through the bile system, but again some remain.  Of the remaining ions which are now circulating in the blood stream, some of them will be reduced to metal particles by the glucose and other reducing agents found in blood.  Others will enter healthy cells throughout the body by passing through the ion channels which normally transport sodium and potassium into the cell.  So eventually, most of the silver is sequestered inside healthy cells where they are unable to kill any pathogens, and unable to escape from the cell because they have bonded with the sulfur and selenium normally found inside the cells.  A small amount of the silver remains as metallic particles circulating in the blood and this remaining silver is available to kill pathogens.  The ratio of available silver to ingested silver is not exactly known because no one has been able to measure it.  However, necropsy of mice and rats dosed with ionic silver show most of the silver remaining is found primarily trapped in the liver and spleen.But then he goes on to say that a researcher drank a liter a day of high ppm Colloidal Silver made with distilled water for weeks at a time with no trace of Argyria. A true colloidal of silver, NOT an ionic solution of silver, will not cause Argyria. BUT… To make a high ppm of Colloidal Silver, a reducer and a stabilizer must be used, otherwise the silver oxide created during electrolysis will precipitate out of the solution when it reaches a little over 20 ppm. The reducer, such as clear corn syrup, and a stabilizer of unfavored gelatin, will render a true colloidal silver suspension of nanoparticles of silver. So what the researcher was really drinking, was a true suspension of AgNp (silver nanoparticles) in a suspension of distilled water. Using a reducer and a stabilizer is the only way a high ppm (anything over 20 ppm) can be made using an electric silver generators as he describes in his book. Intermixing the term Colloidal Silver with what is really Ionic Silver is disingenuous to the reader. The fact is that electrolysis using pure 99.99% silver always produces an Ionic Silver solution.Max states that all the tests have been done. He goes on to claim that fungi, bacteria and viruses can not build up resistance to Colloidal Silver. There has never been a single case of any organism that could be killed by Colloidal Silver ever breeding resistance to it. While this may be true in a lab - referred to as vitro, this is not true in the body, referred as vivo. Some strains of Klebsiella* - (Klebsiella pneumoniae), some strains of Salmonella, and some strains of eCoil have already shown immunity to both ionic and colloidal silver, so the danger is real. No antibiotics including silver should ever be taken without good cause.*The genus Klebsiella belongs to the tribe Klebsiellae, a member of the family Enterobacteriaceae. Three species in the genus Klebsiella are associated with illness in humans: Klebsiella pneumoniae, Klebsiella oxytoca, and Klebsiella granulomatis.Max also states that it is absolutely necessary to store Colloidal Silver in darkness, and preferably in a brown glass bottle. In strong sunlight, a clear glass container of Colloidal Silver can be oxidized to uselessness in less than an hour. This is also wrong, sunlight or ultraviolet light, will only destroy Ionic Silver, not Colloidal Silver. If you take your Ionic Silver solution and reduce it into a Colloidal suspension, sunlight will have no ill effects on it at all.Max also talks about a digital ppm meter, commonly called a TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) meter. TDS meters are designed to read the quality of tap water (distilled works also).  They will not accurately read the PPM of Ionic Silver and you will get a reading for Colloidal Silver but since colloidal form is a suspension (silver nanoparticles floating in water) where nothing is dissolved you can immediately see how they don't work for reading silver. The only correct reading for Colloidal Silver is ZERO! Oh, and the electrodes on TDS meters are usually silver plated. This also interferes with obtaining an accurate reading of your Ionic Silver solution.Over all, there are really too many inaccurate and down right wrong information relayed to the reader of this book. When I first brought this book and read it, I thought it was great, and I got into producing my own Colloidal Silver or so I thought, until I started reading and learning more about the electrolysis process and its output. If you plan on making high quality silver for other people or your family you will need a lot more technical information then what this book will provide you. There are a couple of excellent forums available if you search for them on the web, such as[...] where you can get good sound expert advise and learn exactly what you need to make good Colloidal Silver, before you invest in buying any equipment.

This book is a good book, but that's about it, good. It's more of a Q & A style than anything. I was hoping for more of a meat and potatoes quality since it mentioned the 650 ailments colloidal silver can indeed cure. I was disappointed in the construction of the book as the text isn't square to the pages. It looks like a 3rd grader put this together. This would be a great book if the price was around $5.

Very interesting author. This is a good resource! I was looking for a refresher on making colloidal silver. There is a wealth of pertinent information to get going on the silver. In addition, even more health information is included.

This book is one of the best I've read for information concerning colloidal silver, not only for health but also how and why it works as well as touching on the biochemical process. Also loved the fact it explained fully why the medical industry wishes to vilify silver. And why it's benefits could potentially out pharmaceuticals out of business. Definitely a recommended book and one I will recommend and use as a reference for treatment.
