This natural dark taupe smokey rare Petoskey stone fossil was just swimming in Lake Michigan recently before I rescued it! This darker smokey taupe stone is lightly yet a detailed marked Petoskey stone with a very smooth egg-like shape! I top drilled a 2.1 mm hole into the stone and fitted it with a stainless steel jump ring to hang from a high quality stainless steel hypoallergenic 30 inch ball bead chain complete with USA stamped clam clasp. The stone pendant connects to a 3 stack bead ensemble that I made consisting of two glass smokey beads with a smokey swirly bead in between. The stone measures 1.5 inch x 1 inch and is 1/4 inch fat. The length of the pendant as a whole is 3 inches. Since the chain is high quality stainless steel, its clasp closure is secure and a bit stiffer than others, and is easily released with the pinch method, as shown in the last picture. For size comparison, see last picture as the stone sits atop a quarter. This stone is natural as-found, surf-tumbled, and simply rubbed with oil to bring out its markings as you can also do.
