Canon BG-E20 Battery Grip for EOS 5D Mark IV, Black

Yes you pay a premium for the Canon branded kit but having bought alternatives previously this is definitely great quality. I guess it really depends on how often you use your kit and from experience of buying alternatives before only to upgrade at some point down the line you may as well take the plunge from the outset. Very Happy With Canon Battery Grip, pricey but is what it is!

Expensive but worth it and improves handling especially with a heavy lens attached.

Although hugely overpriced for what is essentially elaborately moulded plastic, it is nicely designed to fit with the Canon 5DmkIV. The outside of the grip is really well built and internally they have updated how the battery cover sits inside.My only major gripe (especially for the price) is that the internal tray that the two batteries sit in is really cheap quality plastic (I actually laughed out laugh when I first saw it). I've used the grips for the mkII and mkIII, both had MUCH better quality battery trays. Don't get me wrong, it isn't the end of the world, but it's not really what you'd expect from a Canon battery grip - maybe alright for a third party Chinese knock-off, but not when you're charging nearly £300 for one.That said, I don't regret buying it, completes the camera (aesthetically) nicely and makes it SO much easier to hold over long periods of shooting.

I used to use a 1Dx which had a huge battery built in. With my 5D I always had to carry a spare battery. Now I can have two in the grip. The other thing I loved about my old camera was when you rotated the camera into portrait mode, the control used by your right thumb (move focus point etc.) were still in the same place as they were duplicated on the bottom right hand side of the camera. I really missed that (If you have not tried it please do it is a game changer for me)Well constructed as you would expect.

Perfect ...it's a snug fit and worked smoothly and efficiently....my only gripe would be that when you want to take the batteries out to recharge the panel switch and compartment do seem a bit fragile and you think they may snap if you were heavy handed ....and there where would you be if it broke ??

Works perfectly as it's the canon genuine article. Because it's a Canon genuine accessory it is vastly overpriced.

seit mehr als 30 Jahren fotografiere ich mit Canon. Für die 30d, 7d, 6d und jetzt für die 5d habe ich bzw. nutze jeweils die Originalbatteriegriffe und habe nie Probleme damit gehabt. Ausgereifte Technik und gute Bedienbarkeit zeichnen den Griff aus. Er ist zwar recht teuer, ich möchte aber mit Kopien keine Experimente machen.

Algo muy necesario para gente como yo, de manos grandes. Mejora increíblemente el grip de la cámara, además de añadir doble batería y controles horizontales (muy útil para retrato).Me ha gistado el detalle de que el joystic del grip actua de forma horizontal correctamente sin hacer ninguna configuración.Es caro, si, pero su construcción es excelente ya que al igual que la cámara esta fabricado en magnesio y mantoene la resistencia estructural del equipo y también la estanquidad.El vendedor ha sido muy correcto y me ha llegado en 5 días cuando en teoría tenía que tardar 2 semanas, por lo que contento también en este apartado.

Poignée Canon BG-E20 : Je possède plusieurs boîtier Canon dont un 5DX MK IV. Lors de mes voyages/expéditions, j'étais confronté au souci de l'autonomie avec ce boîtier ( pratique avec sa fonction NFS pour transfert des jpg non compressés sur le téléphone) en considérant que je laisse la fonction GPS allumée tout le temps (pour mémoriser les parcours/prises de photo). Ceci consomme beaucoup d'énergie et la batterie d'origine n'était pas suffisante pour assumer une journée complète en toute sérénité. Après consultation des commentaires des acheteurs (et notamment sur les produits de substitution), je n'ai pas hésité à m'orienté vers de l'originel. Ceertes le prix est un facteur de décision, mais le risque d'endommager le boîtier ou d'avoir des soucis au milieu de nulle part m'ont convaincus. Restait à trouver le meilleur prix... que j'ai trouvé chez ce marchand en Allemagne. Pas de souci de livraison ni de suivi. En dehors de la capacité batterie (x2), toutes les autres fonctions (déclencheur prise de vue verticale, mesures, ...) sont bien là.Installation plus que facile et pour "le même prix": vous pouvez stocker la trappe originale du compartiment batterie du boîtier dans la poignée... au cas où vous souhaiteriez repasser subitement en mode "sans poignée"... très bien pensé.Petite astuce: j'ai acheté un second chargeur Canon pour pouvoir assurer la recharge des 2 batteries en même temps... et en plan "C"... j'ai une seconde paire de batterie.... que du plaisir!

Considering that this battery grip costs $550 everywhere and I got it brand new on Amazon for $399, I’d say that’s a pretty good deal! Works just fine! Goes well with my 5D Mark IV!
