Bird Quest SBFTRAY Clear Plastic Seed Tray for Birds Quest and Songbird Essentials Feeders, 7.5-Inch

been looking for the right seed tray for my nyjer feeder for a long time. even the bird supply company i bought it from said it did not exist. so happy to have found this here on amazon. fit perfectly - so easy to install. more seed for the birds, less on the pool deck. yay!

Screws right on, collects seeds and shells. I wipe it out every few days. Sometimes bird sit on it.

The title says it all. It is what it is, works fine, but costly for a tiny plastic seed tray.

Great idea, but this tray needs some drain holes in it, plus it doesn't attach firmly to the feeder. Serves my purpose though to keep seed droppings down.

I ordered this to go with a BirdQuest 36" spiral thistle feeder (my 2nd such feeder--I love it) thinking it would help catch those seeds that the birds fling out as they are eating. Unfortunately, it didn't work well as a catcher on the 36" because it is too small to catch anything from the upper portion of the feeder. It might work better on smaller feeders than the 36". But my primary dislike of the seed tray was that when screwed into the bottom of the feeder, it effectively plugs the hole in the bottom cover. That hole is useful for letting any water that gets into the feeder to drain out; by being plugged, water collects and makes the seed at the bottom moldy. If that gets moldy, the birds seem to eschew the entire feeder. Without the tray any water just drains out the bottom cap. So I removed the tray from the feeder. I debated the idea of drilling a new drain hole through the plastic screw plug and reattaching the tray to the feeder, but haven't decided if I want to go to the trouble. It may be a moot point because I'm not sure where I put the tray anyway.

Used it on the thistle seed feeder as a tray and the tray gets filled so quickly which is a good thing. Then when i fill the feeder i put the leftovers back in and the expensive seed lasts longer.

Great product-seed tray saves $$$ capturing very expensive nyjer seed. Tray is well-engineered. The seed stays in the tray despite windy conditions- and drain holes in bottom in case of rain. Easy to screw on & off when I need to put captured seed back into feeder.I ordered this for the spiral thistle (nyjer) feeder. Both great products!

Works like it is supposed to but is a little pricy. I would not have bought it and just let the seeds fall to the ground for my quail and doves, but this feeder is more for thistle-type seeds and you don't need those on the ground.
