Easy to use but hang on to the instructions.
An IMPORTANT POINT: mostly it is just wire as standard and it works. If it doesn't, it maybe the "mode" is incorrect. Putting new types of bulbs / lEDs may change the mode needed. Each switch has its own settings so it can manage different types of lights on each circuit. The switches all operate in three modes 1) trailing edge, alternative trailing edge and 3) Leading edge. Also minimum light level is variable. SO KEEP the instructions in case you need to reprogramme. When I found this problem, it was just a question of trying each mode until I found one that worked.I haven't had this for very long so reliability is not something I can comment on.Set minimum dimmer level: switch on and turn knob fully anti-clockwise. Switch off-on 3 times. Lights go up and down in brightness, Turn knob fully clockwise then adjust to minimum brightness required. Leave for three seconds. Lights will change brightness and job done.Set mode: switch on and turn knob fully clockwise. Swtch off-on three times.(If you are luck the lights will vary brightness then go steady - mine were just off and stayed off!)mode 2) turn fully anti-colockwise and leavemode 3) turn fully anti-colockwise then turn fully colockwise and leavemode 3)To fully reset to factory settings (mode 1 and maximum dim) switch on and turn knob fully clockwise. Swtch off-on three times.(If you are luck the lights will vary brightness then go steady - mine were just off and stayed off!)Then within 5 seconds : Swtch off-on three timesNote in all steps each switch on-off should take about a second. It doesn't seem to matter if you do four on-offs rather than 3.

works very well, providing smooth control on my LED pannels
Make sure you read the instructions. Be sure your LED modules are DIMABLE type.Allows my LED lights to be dimed smoothly from full to a low level as well as providing soft start,May need to choose an appropriate mode and program a minimum setting.Have been very reliable, although did have one damaged during a major thunder storm.yoursHugh....

STUDY the packaging and switch leaflet!
Look like these guys are re-labelling cheaper dimmers (the v-dim) as the more expensive versions (v-pro). CHECK your package contents and codes. Mine had an extra label with the correct code on (what I paid for) - BUT - the switch and instructions were the cheaper non led compatible version. Cheeky at best. Dishonest at worst.

There is a reason why this is the default dimmer tried and tested by LED specialists
As the description states, this dimmer switch covers multiple types of lighting. If you have done your research you will already know it is designed to match the specific electronic requirements of LED loads, and it does that brilliantly. Also important, the best price I have found for this product on the web.

This is not led compatible
I assumed this was ok for LED bulbs as it did not state on amazon. When I received the item and read the instructions it said was not for LED bulbs. I returned the dimmer as it was not what I wanted.

NOT the LED-compatible Varilight V-Pro dimmer (JQDP254W)
The listing is for the Varilight JQDP254W which is the V-Pro LED-compatible dimmer (and a very good switch for LED lights). I was sent the Varilight TQDP254W, which is the V-Dim series (not LED compatible and incidentally worth about £22). Glad I spotted it before I opened the packaging. I've initiated a return.
