Novelty Book - NOT even a good one :(
No PicturesNo DiagramsNo Images of any kindThe only color is on the cover. This is like one of those little, novelty books that uses wild or incomplete (or just plain wrong) information, to try and be witty. If you have never done sushi rolls at home, this will NOT teach you how to do it....not even if you're super clever. You would be just as apt to make a good roll without any instruction at all. Even for novelty books, this one is lacking. If the publisher didn't want to spring for color pages, they could've at least done some sketches.

Overpriced, embarrassing, amazon!
To call this a "book," as Amazon does, is VERY misleading. I assumed, from the photo, I would get a decent-sized cookbook, so 5.95 seemed like a good deal. The "book" is about the size of a post card. The "recipes" are a few words on the page. The descriptions are short, some of the "recipes" are downright silly (peanut butter and jelly sushi???). To add insult to injury, the last eight pages are blank pages with lines for the reader to fill in!This is the first time I have encountered an Amazon.com ad that used the power of power of suggestive web pictures to mislead me about a product. In the future, I'll have to be more careful about buying anything on Amazon that is not a name brand item. Too bad.

Not very funny, if it was a joke. . .
. . .And really that's the only way I can imagine the reasoning behind this book; as a joke, or maybe on a dare. the author did her very best to put together a list of sushi rolls that might be found appealing to the westerner. . . With little success. Peanut butter and Jelly? I won't even justify that with the much deserved "PUHHHLEEEEEEEASE"!The book is short of facts, shorter on technique and devoid of any history whatsoever.Well over half the rolls are either western concoctions or creations straight from the author's imagination. Some of my fav's being the "Eggs McSushi Roll" (Tamago), the "Anchovy and Sun dried Tomato Roll", the "Mussel Shoals Roll" and what Japanese cookbook would be complete without the "Prosciutto and Cantaloupe Roll". . . There's always the "Blackened Catfish Roll" for those of you with a taste for Cajun Sushi. And for you Brit's, how about the "Tomato and Cucumber Roll". . . Try it with beans.Did I really spend 4 bucks on this?

Pocket size, paper back recipe book
Pocket size, paper back book. Was hoping for more of the popular, traditional sushi recipes. Found some recipes that are just well known American sandwiches adapted to be wrapped in rice and nori. Booklet did include recipe for making sticky rice and preparing the nori sheets prior to rolling. I also purchased a non-stick knife to make slicing the sushi easier and a sushi rolling kit. Can't wait to get started.

Item not as pictured
I feel like I've been duped! My book looks NOTHING like the item pictured. First....the book is not much larger than a deck of playing cards. And the seller must have used Photoshop to enhance the cover. The copy I received is so faded I can barely make out what is on it (and the pages inside have equally yellowed with age). The sad fact is.....I collect items throughout the year for baskets that will be raffled for scholarship funds for an organization that I belong to. I will now have to spend additional $$ to buy another recipe book for my Japanese themed basket. Grrrrrrr!

This book is really no better than a pullout from a magazine
This book is really no better than a pullout from a magazine , no pictures, poorly written, a waste of money. Better info on this subject pretty much anywhere else. Save your money, don't buy it

READ REVIEWS - Keep on Looking for another book
The book was not worth the 6.00 dollars... Should have read the reviews before spending the money. The book presents non traditional and wrong information pertaining the Japanese culture and eating of Sushi. It's such a very small book, like it was an insert to some other product, that were extras left behind. No pictures (other than the cover page),No diagrams and incomplete recipes...AND...Peanut Butter and Jelly Sushi????? Really???? not worth the cost of ink.... Still... my fault...should have read the reviews..... <<<<<<<<<READ REVIEWS>>>>>>>>

Not athentic or helpful
Very tiny book with hardly any helpful information and lacking pictures, too. It reminds me of something that might be given away (but no one takes on, even though it's free) on a table at a flea market or trade show where people are selling knives and cleaning products. Don't waste your money - keep looking for a better book. I wish I would have read the reviews before I purchased it.
