Do you know what I like about subway? The tomatoes are sliced while they are whole so you get this beautiful cross section of tomato in your sandwich that you can admire before you devour it.I got this slicer because I have notions and I wanted those perfect tomato cross sections in the sandwich that I make at home, which you just can't get with a knife.The finger guard worked perfectly when I kept my fingers in it. It also worked perfectly when my little finger got between the outside of the finger guard and the sharp blades.The blades are so sharp that the tip of my fingernail only put up the slightest resistance. The result was a perfect cross section of my fingertip including the nail on the top, then the skin, then whatever you call the flesh between the skin and the bone.Additionally I got to see the perfect cross section on my finger as well because the blade was so sharp.I'm never going to use any slicer ever again except a knife but I had a good time with this one.

Flimsy in comparison to my older mandolines. Tried this out yesterday and was very unimpressed by the quality and ease of cutting. If you are buying a mandoline for the first time do yourself a favour and spend a bit more and get a more substantial one. This is smaller than my others and clogs up very quickly. The vegetable grip doesn't hold well and the whole thing feels like cheap, hard plastic, though, admittedly, the blades are sharp. This was bought for use when I am cooking at a family member's home but I'm not sure it is worth taking there.

Love it love it love it! Be super careful as the blades in this product is very sharp and super easy to use. I have used it almost everyone to slice my fruits/veg for the dehydrator! It comes with 4 different slicers and does the job super quick! Highly recommended

Great for coleslaw, less good for chips

Having used this for a few months now I do not think I would recommend the product. I find I have to hand slice quite a lot of the items that I cannot quite get into the slicer - I find the blades quite stiff to get off the mandolin holder and also one of the blades has a bit of the green plastic snapped off. The spiked holder is absolutely useless in my opinion.

it was a present, and they are really pleased with it. outstanding for them is how finely (or not so finely), quickly and easily, it cuts onions, a job which is unpleasant and laborious by hand. thisalso applies to most vegetables.
