It works and is not hard to use.
I was setting up our metal frame pool (12' x 39") when I noticed that not only was a previous self-adhesive repair on the base falling off, but there was also a new 1.5" cut near to it.Because of this I decided to try a more permanent repair and after reading reviews I decided to give this kit a try.The result is two repairs that I feel really confident about. The kit comes with full instructions and if you follow them you will do a good repair. But below is a list of tips that will help you make an even better repair.....1 - make sure that when you cut your patches to size they have fully rounded corners.2 - do NOT skimp on the patch size.3 - do NOT skimp on the adhesive.4 - be ready because when you apply adhesive to the patch, the patch will start to curl up.5 - totally clean and degrease a good distance around the hole/tear (pure alcohol is great for this).6 - if at all possible apply a repair to BOTH sides of the hole/tear.7 - the cotton applicator is good for one session only as it goes hard afterwards. So maybe have a stock of large cotton buds on hand if you need to fix new holes. In short this is a really good and effective repair kit and I am confident that my repairs are permanent.

Really good
Great for fixing repairs on my hot tub. Works great and last for ages. Great buy, I'll be repurchasing some soon because I don't want to be without it. Each repair I have done with this has lasted. It sticks really well. Covers different types of holes or slits

Very effective with a generous helping of the glue and the vinyl
Unexpectedly excellent product. Some of the other packs are a bit cheaper but they have nowhere near as much glue and vinyl patch material. This has 60ml (2 fl.oz) of some quite potent glue which is wickedly sticky stuff to use. My pack contained a roll of vinyl maybe 15cm wide, more than 30cm long, and two sheets. On the down side, the vinyl is quite thin - thick enough to patch our airbed, but this combined with the glue itself does make getting the patch in place a bit tricky (the glue deforms the vinyl within seconds). So four stars instead of five. I think with slightly thicker vinyl, this would completely merit five stars.Having had to patch four tears on the plastic welds on our airbed, I found the best way to use this stuff was to cut a decent size patch (I'm allowing 2cm in all directions beyond the hole), flatten it out on a marble pastry board or a piece of cold glass/mirror, put a decent blob of glue in the centre, then use a spatula or spreader to cover the entire patch. Try to keep it flat on the board because it will try to lift and curl a lot. You must get enough glue spread to the very edge of the patch or the curling of the vinyl will prevent the edge from sticking. Place the patch on the repair area quickly, then while avoiding getting glue on the top of the patch, press out all the air and then keeping pressing the edges down. Take a couple of extra minutes doing this and you get a much better patch with no raised edges. (The glue once dry rubs off the mirror/marble really easily and cleanly.)I've let the glue dry for the required 24hrs and so far all four patches have held perfectly even with adult load on the air bed.If you've a big tear to cover, I'd be tempted to double patch i.e. patch once, let it dry, then patch again with a larger piece, since the vinyl patch material is relatively thin and flexible. On the downside, the glue itself is heavy duty stuff with a lot of solvent so it attacks the material being patched. On the lighter weight vinyls of airbeds and inflatable toys, this can be a challenge so don't overload the glue - it's a difficult balance to get. If you have something heavy, flat and non-adhesive like my upturned marble pastry board it is well worth leaving this pressing on the patch for several hours to reduce the rippling, as advised on instructions. I finally got my fourth patch about right in terms of glue, speed, flatness, bubble-free, etc, so if the cosmetics are important, I would definitely practice somewhere first. I don't think you would get this problem with a heavier duty vinyl.

Works well but can get a bit messy
I originally bought this repair kit because it was recommended to me by a hot tub rental company company when we bought one of their Lazy Spa's off them second hand. It is inevitable that if you own a Lazy Spa or similar, it will pick up a puncture from time to time but this kit gave us long lasting and reliable results. You get plenty of the material used to cover the punctures and the glue itself doesn't take long to dry. The applicator itself is a bit of a one hit wonder because once you've used it, the glue goes hard on it which then makes it a bit harder to use but it's a minor gripe in what is overall, a very good product. Our hot tub did eventually reach the point of becoming unrepairable but that's always going to be the downside of the cheaper inflatable hot tub when compared to the much more expensive hard shell versions.I think if you have an inflatable hot tub then this is a must have product and would recommend.

Not impressed
I read lots of reviews for this and other similar products. The reviews in this product were split regarding levels of success but I decided to go with it. Many reviews for this product have found this brilliant but I’ve really struggled with this product and have tried so many variations to get it right and keep an airtight seal. I found that with a thin application of glue on the supplied patch didn’t stick as the glue just seemed to dry so quickly ( within seconds) and a thicker application softened the supplied patch and made it go wrinkly preventing a good seal. Admittedly I was repairing some fairly large holes but I had poor results on the smaller ones too. Also it says wait 24 hours before inflation and to maybe add a weight to press it down. This is not easy if you’re repairing an odd shaped, ridged or curved surface and I had all of these to contend with repairing the rodent damaged inflatable inner lid on my Miami hot tub. After a week of trying I’ve finally got seals on most of the patches but I’m still working on 2 which are still not airtight. Waiting 24 hours before testing it makes it time consuming unless it works first time.
