BRUT Original Aftershave, 100ml

If you start searching anything about Brut, you will realise there is a bunch of perfume purists insisting that their old aftershave from 50 years ago lasted for hours and hours or that the scent has gone downhill.I don't know if any of that is true, but I know one thing. This aftershave is so pleasant to use! The scent istraditional masculine but light and refreshing at the same time. There is a citrusy vibe overall with it, but quite some woody/spicy/floral goodness as well. It is such a good balance and I can't get enough of it.The effect lasts for very little, I would say around an hour, but this is expected for any shaving products in general. It also justifies the low price. The important thing is that it gives me that nice burn right after shaving and just before applying my moisturising shaving balm. Even more importantly though, it just makes me feel excited for shaving and super fresh before leaving the house.

What an absolutely gorgeous smell this, however it's not the mind blowing smell of the good ol days. Most people will know the name BRUT 33 and the corny adds that marketed the brand. It had a mind blowing smell that would stink the place out for hours on end. It was powerful punchy stuff that real men loved, for me as a kid at the time I thought it was bit cheesy and never gave it much thought as I got older then I completely forget about it and thought what cheap mug buys BRUT these days.I was wrong, but not 100%. The scent is very familiar, but something is missing, it doesn't blow your socks off or remove the hair up your nostrils, it just smells great, for the price it's a killer scent, but it's as weak as a politician, really watered down which is a real killer. It last about an hour if that which is really disappointing. You can't expect miracles for the price, but for the price you get a stunning smell with little longevity. I'd happily for 10 times the price for a smell with a bit more punch, projection and a longevity of 6-10 hours. Close but no cigar.

The media could not be loaded. Although I like the smell, this was a birthday present for a friend!On opening the Amazon packaging, bottle had leaked, the plastic wrapping was saturated and slightly ripped.Not returned as I'll keep it myself!

I have been using Brut aftershave for many years and was glad to find this on Amazon. Great price and, as usual, arrived next day with Amazon Prime.

Bought as a joke gift for partner for Xmas, but I'd forgotten how lovely it smells .. Great price and boxed so great gift will go with other brut items bought separately in a hamper
