Nice idea for a product, poorly executed
Really disappointed. Probably should have took heed in the other negative reviews. The extension cord emits are annoyingly loud constant buzz which is not really functionally acceptable and rather disconcerting. On top of this, the master slave functionality failed to trigger with the devices I was using despite meeting the supposed wattage threshold required to turn off the device.Nice idea for a product, poorly executed.I have returned the product for a refund and will spend the money elsewhere.

Loud humming noise
Plugged it in, heard loud humming noise and threw it in the bin. Total waste of money. How it performs, I can't tell you because I didn't even use it due to the loud humning noise.I strongly urge people to avoid buying unless they are hard of hearing.EDIT: Customer support is rubbish too. They ignored my request for help initially and upon repeatedly contacting them, they made excuses about not receiving my original request for help and I was promised I would receive help. Of course, this never materialised.

Your most important socket
You have to choose which appliance is the most important to stay on all the time and which needs to go off completely to save money. The others will go off when that one does.

Doesn’t work…
Tried to use this with a home av system and and it didn't work had the main amplifier on the master socket and a power amplifier on the slave it would not power on the power amplifier at all and emitted a loud buzzing noise like an angry bee so started the return process immediately… wish I had read the other reviews first … Live and learn I guess…

Substandard product compunded by devices drawing too much power when in 'standby'
I had mixed views on this because it wasn't detecting that my PC was powering down but I had exactly the same problem with a MasterPlug extension. This product has an intermittent fault which has now become permanent so I would strongly advise you not to buy as you would have to argue under the Sale of Goods Act and that gets really tiresome if going through the marketplace (Energenie will replace if you bought directly from them or Amazon - but you have to complain under Sale of Goods Act, they won't volunteer that information and will try and get out of it by claiming a 1 year warranty)But, to confuse matters, there could be a different cause so the problem isn't always with the extension, as such, it's with the machine motherboard continuing to draw power when you turn the computer off. I think the extension needs the PC to draw less than 1 watt so I found two solutions:1. The ideal is to change your PC (and possibly BIOS) settings so that things like USB ports all power down when you turn the machine off or put it in standby.2. The second, slightly less satisfactory, option is to connect the computer to the always on socket and the main monitor to the main socket that monitors the power consumption. So when the monitor goes to sleep all the devices turn off - you might have to try different attached devices to find one that actually stops drawing power when in standby. But please make sure your PC is attached to an 'always on' socket otherwise it will just switch off every time the monitor goes into power save.As frustrating as this is, we have a substandard quality product combined with computer and electronics manufacturers designing devices that draw far too much power when they are supposed to be in 'energy saving' mode!

These are great well worth the money when used with games consoles etc
Love this, quite expensive but work so well, I actually hunted for another one as there were no stock left here Love the fact nothing is left on in my sons room when he turns off his t.v

Buzzing sound
Loud, constant electric buzzing hum when connected to mains, even with all the sockets empty.
