SmartDon Non-Toxic Large Extra Thick(0.55-inch) With Fence Play Mat Crawling Mat (Number)

I bought this extra thick mat with edges that can be put up to serve as bumpers for my little twin grandsons. They are just a couple of months old and need "tummy time." This surface is definitely extra thick and has a little flex (so not too hard) but definitely firm enough that there is no concern of any pieces easily tearing off or being able to be chewed off. One of my other grandchildren has had a similar playmat since about six months of age and is going on four years old now and they still use it! The mat is in the corner of the family room with toys near by as a "play zone" where he can sit and crawl without being on the hard floors or a rug (that could hold dust and is not as comfortable). The playmat has not scratched their lovely new hardwood floors either despite years of play activity on it daily and it looks like new, having held up very well.

This is a nice little bit of matting for my 4 month old granddaughter to play in on the floor. However, I did not realize that the animals in the squares also pop out like puzzle pieces. I would have preferred solid pieces for the bottom, but I suppose she'll get use out of them later when she can take them apart and put them back together. The foam pieces are firm, but not hard.

Cutest play pad ever. The colors are fantastic, and material quality is great. I compared to other play mats available on Amazon, and by far this is the most eye-catching (prettiest) one. Easy to clean and assemble.When I ordered this item, it was out of stock... but it got replenish quickly and got it in no time. the main reason why I bought this, is due to the fence.. my dog loves to invade others' space, the fence worked great to prevent her to invade my LO play area.Baby gets tummy time here and also play time... can wait for him to start crawling and trying to get the fence down hahaha

Pros:Adorable design and colors!Easy to put togetherStrong material - withstanding my 1-year-old very nicelyFold up edges to make a little play areaNo toxic chemical smell!!Cons:It had some kind of slippery/oily film on it when it arrived, and after walking on it, you would have it on your shoes/socks/feet and I almost slipped and fell a couple times (it took a few wipe-downs to get it off)Overall - love it! Will probably buy another, as it is pretty small. It would be nice to make a bigger play area.

I love the thickness and pattern of this playmat, but unfortunatey it does have a strong odor. I enjoy getting down on the mat with my 4 month old and I can still smell the burnt plastic smell after a week of airing it out and wiping it down with our baby safe toy and table cleaner. My baby's skin and hair will also take on the odor of the mat. Kind of a bummer because the mat is so great otherwise!

Love it!! Should of ordered the big one!! Hopefully I can in the future and tell them to send me the other half of the animals I did no recieve! About the fence.. if you are trying to keep your lo in the mat yIt does not work. They will push it and it will flatten out. I bought it with the purpose of keeping my dog out and it works. I command him not to go in with the walls up. It's easier than telling him not to walk on a mat.

Purchased for grand. How fast they outgrow this! Great for being on the floor with baby, but you might want two when they're learning to crawl around. Sides don't stay up under moving baby force.

Perfect for our smaller living room space. The sides are good to help keep our dogs off of it. However, the individual pieces (animal faces) make it hard to quickly move for cleaning the floor as they come out sometimes.
