Jerry Bruckheimer Action Collection [Blu-ray] [Region Free]

I had this pre-ordered and i received it 5 days later (I stay in East Africa), as usual my blur ray arrived well packed, though i am totally disappointed by the packaging, its a very thin cheap piece of paper that forms the case that holds all the discs in their respective boxes. This for me is the let down of the whole package, for such a distinguished Producer in Hollywood, the studio chooses this sort cheap packing. It does not look next to my collection of digibooks and steel books, even next to the other blu ray collections with the ordinary packaging. Thankfully this is the only downside, they are 4 disc cases, each contains 2 discs, as it has been stated clearly over here by other reviewers, all movies are region free except Déjà Vu , which is strictly region B, Amazon needs to change this mistake. Now on to the quality of the movies, i am pretty sure these are the old transfers that have been floating around, no new improvements have been made to the movies, but there are still excellent on blur ray, though its now very easy to notice the age of movies like Armageddon, don't get me wrong, I aint saying Armageddon looks bad, its still stunning on blu-ray, The rest of the movies stand out very well. No complaints from me. Now for the sound, I am huge fan of DTS HD, closely followed by Dolby True HD, Unfortunately only Armageddon out of the whole collection comes with DTS HD master audio 5.1 soundtrack, which really gets all the speakers going when necessary, All the other movies have the standard 5.1 dolby digital soundtrack and no DTS HD master Audio soundtrack, but thank the lord they put a LPCM 5.1 soundtrack on the rest of the films, the thing about uncompressed PCM is that everything is very crisp, i watched the remaining 7 movies with the LPCM 5.1 soundtrack option (Not a fan of ordinary Dolby Digital 5.1 on Blu rays) and they where stunning. As for features, dont expect any, the very few that are available are very very few. All in all it's a great bargain for all these movies, except for the packaging though, nothing else should stop you from buying this, though i am very sure, we shall soon see a new Bruckheimer collection with brand new transfers, just wait, the studios always get us like that don't they, lol. Let's be honest here, 18 of your finest pounds (or poonds for our brethren north of the border) for 16 hours of popcorn film action is a veritable bargain. All great in their own right (alright Enemy of the State is a bit weak, and Pearl Harbour (americans note spelling) is also pants but has Kate Beckinsale in it) making them an ideal way to while away a rainy afternoon. Video and sound quality are both very good, maybe not up there with the best but nothing to complain about. Best film here? Personal taste but for me has to be the Rock, quality movie. Went to Alcatraz last year, disappointed that there are no scorch marks from the thermite-plasma left, or no dead terrorist under an AC unit, must have cleaned the place up I suppose.....

Brilliant collection of films, too bad about awful pearl harbour but worth it for rest.

Great movies for Xmas, good fun and, of course, stunning in Blu-Ray. The Rock is just superb in this format. A must buy, especially at this price. Good bonus materials, nothing exceptional but it is there :)

Can't believe I got this brilliant blu ray collection for only £20 that's only £2.50 for each blu ray disc. ok they ain't exactly Oscar winning films but they are big and brash loud blockbusters that will give your home cinema system a good workout. and the visuals are fantastic too. well worth getting

8 Blockbuster action movies on Blue Ray for just over £20 is a real bargain. Sure they are not all the best films in the world, but most of them are pure unadulterated escapism for the best part of 2 hours each. I've watched any of these yet in Blue Ray but I can only imagine how good the action scenes are, such as the bombing of Pearl Harbour or the nuking of the Asteroid in Armageddon - I bet they look epic in full HD with the surround sound blearing out. Can't wait!

Paquete de 8 películas a un gran precio. En general, aunque no son películas recientes, la calidad de la imagen y el sonido son bastante buenas.El único punto negativo es no tener subtítulos en portugués.

Action/drama movies are a dime a dozen! Few have the originality and strong story line to captivate such as these. So many phenomenal actors: Washington, Hackman, Smith, Connery, Cage, Affleck, Willis and more all rolled into one!

Prima prijs voor 8 vermakelijke films. Behalve the Rock heeft elke andere film gewoon NL ondertiteling.

Esta colección no puede faltar en tu estantería si eres apasionado de los Blu Ray de acción y menos por este precio. La Roca viene en Inglés pero es lo de menos. Armageddon lo compensa, ya que ni siquiera está editada en España. Todas las demás con Audio en Castellano, gran calidad de imagen y sonido y los mismos extras que las versiones de España. Muy recomendable.

Nicht in ordnung, das nur 2 Filme Deutsche tonspur haben, und das nicht erwähnt wird! Kaufe 8 Filme, kann nur 2 schauen, das gehört in den Beschrieb. Danke, nicht fair!
