Product description Glow in the dark pigments absorb radiant energy from sunlight or strong UV lighting. They charge in minutes and then release light for up to 10 hours in dark conditions. This product work well when added to clear resins, adhesives etc, certain plastics, glass, inks, dyes and some paints. MSDS and TDS will be made available when your order is delivered. Always wear safety gloves, goggles and a mask whilst handling pigments. Please fully test our products before print runs, projects, installations and production. Colours and packaging may vary. Not as intense as the green, but still good. Works well in resin.
I’ve been trying to make a little set of “glow in the dark” ornaments and I’ve now tried all four of the SFXC glow in the dark pigments, (Green, Aqua blue, sky blue and Violet), using resin as the medium. To cut to the chase, I found;GREEN - easily the brightest glow and seems to last about the longest time, though the aqua may last a little longer. Hard to really say.AQUA BLUE and SKY BLUE - similar. Not as intense as green, but still good and give a “warmer” glow. I thought the aqua blue lasted a little longer than the cobalt blue and about as long as the green.VIOLET - easily the weakest glow and for the shortest time. Pity, because it is a nice colour. To try and do a direct comparison of the four, I made four small resin casts (clear resin gives the best results), using the same method and the same amount of glow pigment in each. (Initially, using a mixture of 20g of pigment and 20g of resin to coat the inside of the mould, until it was starting to set and then back-filling the mould with the basic resin, without any pigment).Once demoulded and fully cured, I then shone a UV light on each for about a minute, to give each a good boost of light, although in the case of the violet pigment, I found it needed much longer before I saw any real glow.I found the green to be easily the brightest and most intense. It looks really good. This aqua blue and the sky blue gave pretty good glows too, although not as bright as the green. These gave a “warmer” glow, to me. Of all the colours, this aqua blue glow seemed, perhaps, to last the longest, or at least similar to the green. Looks good! The violet pigment was easily the most disappointing. It didn’t really glow anything like as strongly as the other three, even after extended exposure to UV light. (Reading about these glow in the dark pigments, afterwards, it seems that the purple pigment is known to need a lot of light exposure to get it to work, and even then the glow it gives is relatively weak and short lived, relative to the other colours. Apparently, so I’ve read, white and orange glow pigments are pretty bad also and red is even worse than violet!)I tried to take a couple of photos to show the differences, unfortunately, they really don’t do the colours or the various glows justice. They all look much better in the dark with the naked eye (also, the bright green comes out yellow and the violet, dark blue for some reason, in the photos).Photos (left to right); green, aqua blue, sky blue and violet. Finally, I also tried the green and aqua blue as very concentrated (40% by weight) “suspensions” in clear varnish, without much luck. The pigment tended to just settle on the bottom and be a bit “clumpy”, which made them very difficult to apply. Even after several coats, the effect was much weaker than in resin (where it is held much better in suspension).

Very good value
This is very good value and excellent quality. If you're using it to coat smaller objects such as mobiles to glow in the bedroom I recommend you use budget nail varnish to adhere the powder to the object and then use it again as a top coat to seal the glow surface into place. Strontium aluminate is very luminescent but you do need about three coats or layers of the stuff to achieve a uniform glow. It's quite a niche market I suppose but this is definitely the best value you will find for this rare earth product.

Not sure yet!
Not sure the jury’s still out on this one, gritty to use with resin and I had several other layers so maybe this got a little lost, but it could be that I didn’t use enough who knows never used it before so all trial and error. A bit more experimenting and I may know what went wrong so it may be down to the user and not the product.

Great product with bright glow
It worked great! I know the instructions are to mix with a clear varnish etc, but this polar bear was made by adding the glow powder to the plaster of Paris mix:) resulted in an even glow that glows very brightly! Have ordered some more colours :)

Works exactly how you would want it to
I used it with resin to fill a crack in a wooden wand I carved to give it a "magical glow". A little pricey, but worth it as it works very very well!

Wear protective gear
It glows. It is very very fine material.Wear gloves and mask when dealing with this stuff, it is very easy to ingest it as its very powdery.

Excellent Glow, very bright
The Aqua glow is brilliant, much much brighter than I initially expected. It did not take long to charge up for a bright glow at all. Also it arrived much sooner than anticipated - very happy with this product
