Joint Genie is just the job
I bought the Joint Genie because I was about to start a new project using 18mm plywood which required a lot of joints to be made to assemble the various parts together and the Joint Genie seemed to offer the best solution. It did not take long to get the hang of it and it was very straight forward and quick to use, and my project is working out fine and is just about complete. There are no dislikes that I can think of for the tool, the only thing that stands out is the fact that it is a bit pricey, but then it is very tough and well made and should last a lifetime.I would recommend it to any DIY enthusiast, and of course you don't have to use it just for plywood, it will make dowel joints in just about any kind of timber construction

Tool is clever, but build quality is very bad.
plastic screw head is wider then bar, you need to remove it every time you will use it with some ruler.bar is not very precise with right angle, especially on the end. Bar metal coating was damaged after first use, it is leaving bar in whole plates, I cut a bit myself with it several times.Price is high, in package should be one more set of complete bars, also longer bar 1m would be great and very usefull.

Dowel joints that work.
I don't have hundreds of pounds for fancy power tools to join timber together. So I looked for an alternative. This little beauty does all that I need, with total accuracy. I haven't found any negatives. I'm happy with it and reccomend it wholeheartedly.

Works well and is very flexible for laying out dowels or assembly holes for items that have to meet up.
I used it to make dowels and assembly holes for 5 beds that had to be built in a hurry for a wedding. Was very flexible and tge ability to effectively produce jig built parts for assembly was a great boon

Exactly as expected
Sturdy, precise, easy to master. There is very little to add to what other said.My first doweling job with it was a bit extreme (about 180 dowels for a triple bunk bed) and every single joint was perfect

expensive
Thought about buying this for some time, price was putting me off, WOW what a great bit of kit, wish I took the plunge sooner, simple to use and very acurate

Worth the money.
Yes, it does seem like a lot of money for a lump of metal. However, it is a great idea, a brilliant design and very well engineered. I paid £300 for a biscuit joiner, and I think the joint genie is more functional.

right tool for the right job
This tool has given me accurate dowel positioning where others have failed. I am not a expert but have recently done a lot of doweling with this jig and had no failures and exact positioning. Price is a bit on high side but saying that l had to buy it to perform a joint that others could not accurately do.
