Brilliant music streamer that just works - highly recommend
I have a 20 year old Arcam Alpha 7 which has been in the living room and remains mostly unused as we listen to music over BT speakers in other rooms. Having recently redecorated this room I was under pressure to remove the amp and speakers, so I thought I would make it an Media Internet Streamer and get the old Amp to join the Internet of Things (IoT) by investing in the Muzo Cobblestone.Wow, what a piece of kit this is. It really does look like a Cobblestone and is a big hit with the family, in the living room it fit in very well with the new decor. The product is nicely presented in a white Apple like box, out side of it there is information about the features it supports as well as info on the streaming services and a number of Internet radio station, these servers natively stream to the product controlled via the app. Included in the box is the UK power supply, mini USB cable 1m, 3.5 to Audio LR inputs (RCA cable) and 3.5 to 3.5, so everything is covered. Before powering up the Cobblestone install the Android or iPhone app, once you have then power on the Cobblestone. I found having a small pair of speakers a great way to set it up away from the main Amp close to our router. When you turn it on it announces this and also about it being connect to the home wifi network or not. Pairing is simple either use the "WPS" feature of your router and the device or through the App.Once set-up then you can connect to it direct from the Phone either using its own wifi hot-spot feature or through your own wifi network via Airplay or dlna. I have used both and they work well. The location of the Cobblestone next to the Amp means it is seeing a 75% wifi signal strength, if I place the device on top of the Amp this drop to 45% probably due to the local power transform EMC noise. If you connect a tablet or phone to the Cobblestone and stream your music via the app from these you see the album cover spin on a sudo vinyl record which is quite amusing. The App for the iPhone is excellent and allows you to view and control the features of the Cobblestone, such as psswd protecting the hot-spot feature etc. BTW this is not a network repeater as a few have said, I contact DigiFunk prior to ordering the device and they confirmed it will not act this way, if it had this would be been a nice bonus as it sit at the edge of our wifi network. You can control the Cobblestone using the web as it has webserver running on it so you can also set everything up via a normal web browser.I have also used the Cobblestone with Airfoil running on our iMac, this allows us to stream Spotify (non premium) and Amazon Music (Prime customer). This works really well as Airfoil sees it as an Airplay Speaker so now all our music is sync'd in the house with our other Airplay speakers. I think we now have something approaching a SONO set-up but a lot cheaper and able to use 20 year audio equipment.Audio quality is good, if you have high quality MP3s or loss less records these sound very good and Spotify is also well handled. I'm not sure the DAC is on the unit but it does a good job, if you want better then I think you might invest something a lot more expensive. The music out of the Arcam Alpha7 is nice and rich and very pleasant to listen to.

Great Device - but not on Windows 10!
I originally purchased this device with a view to streaming music from my desktop computer. The computer is running Windows 10 and unfortunately the app that allows access to both the device and my music files, does not work well with this Operating System. In fact the whole thing is unstable. It may work on occasion and then go into serious sulk mode. There is, however, nothing wrong with the device itself, nor the Muzo phone app that ships with it as it seems to work fine with other Operating Systems like Windows 7 (or 8, so I'm told). With some judicious assistance from "Danny from DigiFunk" (who I swear is a one-man band!), we managed to get the device working on WIndows 10 with the Muzo app. Whilst Danny is trying to sort out the issues with W10, he recommended a different Media Player to install on the PC in the meantime, called Serviio (serviio.org). This one works fine with the device and so far hasn't failed to display all my music files on the app on my iphone. (works equally well on Android). The only slight downside , is the wireless link from the phone to the device occasionally dropping out. However, by turning the app off and back on again, seems to restore the link. One thing to note is that the phone and the device MUST be on the same wifi access otherwise it wont function. If you happen to have more than one wifi access point in the house, like I have, (same link to the router but different SSIDs), your phone may automatically switch between wifi links thus losing the connection to the device. Finally, once all the teething troubles were overcome, the receiver performed well when connected to my old hi-fi system, and the sound quality is excellent. Also, using the Muzo app, finding music over the internet using its own search function is brilliant.

I was expecting a pig in a poke, I got a gourmet sandwich with a lovely pint of real ale.
When I saw the Cobblestone for sale, I had mixed emotions. On the one hand it promised a solution that I'd been waiting years for: a way to play digital music on my old, faithful and wonderful sounding HiFi. On the other hand, I had been offered these World-on-a-stick offers before and been left disappointed. However, and this is a big however, the price of £39.99 was just too good to miss. The box arrived, looking very slick and professional. Always a good sign. Inside was the Cobblestone, a USB lead, a mains adapter for the USB, a leaflet and an audio lead. Looking at the back of the device, there is an RJ45 lead, a 3.5mm stereo socket, and a USB micro socket.I had to buy a longer USB cable as the one provided wasn't long enough and I also had to buy a pair of phono adapters to allow me to plug the provided lead into the redundant twin phono lead that I had purloined from the long defunct tape deck. After I'd connected it all together, I downloaded the 4Stream software for Android. As soon as I started it up it found the Cobblestone and within a minute or two it was connected and running. Really, that simple. As I was using RJ45, I didn't even have to get it to find a wifi. After password protecting the wifi extender it creates, the job was done. Now for the acid test: would it sound any good? Well boys and girls, it bl**dy-well does! The sound is very good indeed, especially as most of my music has been converted from CD to FLAC. No extra noise at all, nada, just warm, wholesome tunes - oh, and Lemmy.Would I recommend the Cobblestone? You bet! There are a few gripes. I can't get rid of the gap between tracks. Probably not a big thing nowadays, but I'm used to some music flowing from one track to the next without interruption. But why should I complain that a £40 gadget does it when my bl**din' expensive car does the same thing? The other thing is that the software is nowhere near as good as it could be - the work clunky jumps immediately to mind. It does the job, but it ain't pleasant. Guys, if you're going to design something that is so aesthetically pleasing as the Cobblestone, why not make the app, that you're going to be looking at a whole lot more than the Cobblestone itself, more pleasing?
