It is so helpful to have a hole in the centre for the dowel.

Stumbled upon these accidentally but was very glad that I did - I bake a lot of cakes and always end up buying two separate foil-backed boards, as I like the have one the same size as the cake as well as the display board. These are much more cost-effective as the “hidden” board, thick enough to support the cake to get it on to the display board but thin enough to be unobtrusive. You can also cover them in foil if you wish, but that’s not something I’ve tried yet as I use these as hidden support.

Works perfectly for separating cake tiers

These are ideal for stacking cakes. Very handy to have a pre cut hole in the centre for the central dowel. The only improvement would be to have a bit of a sheen on the underside as it did absorb a bit on the bottom. Didn't cause any major issues though. Otherwise perfect.
