I bought both the open and closed comb versions of these razors.i've used each twice and so far they shave well,with the closed comb version being more aggressive than the open comb version.The finish on these razors is very good,both of mine have a flawless chrome finish and look just like the images do.These razors are heavy due to the very large handle and the handles share the same thread as Merkur uses,so should be interchangeable with most 3 piece razors heads if you want to mix and match handles.although smooth i didnt find the handles slippy as i held them just below the collar.There is around a 0.75mm blade overhanging on the side of the head and come in a nice red slide out box,no blades included but they take standard DE blades.no idea on long term reliability yet,but time will tell.

I had been thinking of making the change from cartridge razors to a safety razor for some time. I decided to invest in a razor which wasn't too expensive but looked the part. I read a lot of recommendations for German razors but still found that I would be paying too much if I didn't fancy making the switch. This razor fell into my preferred price bracket and had decent reviews.Delivery was quick and I was impressed that the company e-mailed me to ask about any problems with delivery and if I was happy with the razor.So, I've been using the razor for about a week, after investing in a brush and shaving cream and I'm very happy. Yes, the shaving technique is different but much more satisfying. Only one nick on my first shave so I'm happy with that. The razor looks good and has a nice weight to it. I see no reason to upgrade at this stage and I see no reason to do so as long as this razor serves me and saves me on the ridiculous cost of cartridge razors. Recommended.

Have used many wet razors over the years, found this is one of the best, better than sword edge. I am 73years old and find it as good as a cut throat razor Would buy again

It is a quality razor but I found it too be a bit too harsh. Now gone back to using my old 'Muhle' safety razor. Each to their own I guess.

I have been looking for a decent razor for a while since my existing electric razor started to show signs of decline in performance. Instead of replacing it with another electric razor I decided to go back to a more traditional option since I feel that they offer a better quality shave. This razor is great and is a better option for me than the disposable plastic types that are commonly used. It looks great and is an excellent grooming tool - it has a certain style to it in as much as it offers a modern twist on a classic design with the chrome finish adding that little touch of class. As an aside the razor came nicely packaged in a presentation box so would be an ideal option for a gift.
