For all the old Stir Crazy fans
For years, I've wanted a popper that works as well as the old Stir Crazy poppers from the 70's and 80's. I finally found one and this is it. I've been using it for several months. The quality is good. The corn pops well. It's not too difficult to clean. I put the lid and bowl in the dishwasher. Of course, the base has to be cleaned by hand and not submerged in water.

Top notch popper. Easy, fast and yummy!
This popcorn maker makes excellent tasting popcorn. It is better than microwave popcorn and even better than pan made popcorn. It's extremely easy to use and almost every kernel pops. The butter melting feature is nice, especially if the butter is warmed prior to popping in the microwave or pan. It makes excellent kettle corn just by adding sugar. It stores easily and pops very fast. I highly recommend this popper. it is a very well engineered product at a great price.

Fun Popping
A cool corn popper. Easy to use and fairly easy to clean. I've seen so many video's where people complain about it not working correctly but it's obvious they don't read the instructions. No oil used, they leave the cap on the dome/bowl while popping. Seriously people read and follow instructions, it's works just fine. My only notes are that the corn is a bit short, I guess do to the storage thing they came up with on the bottom of the unit, but cord should be a foot longer. Also sometimes when I turn on the switch it does not turn on. I have to turn it off then back on to get it to function correctly. Overall a good popcorn popper. Glad I got it for $28 because I wouldn't pay more than that for it.

The lid is warped, etc.
I have used this unit twice so far. On the plus side, the popper works effectively, it pops the corn quickly and leaves very few un-popped kernels- much fewer than my old air popper. A few minor issues include the fact that: 1) You must turn it off quickly once the popping slows and flip it over or the popcorn will start to burn. 2) Also, the unit won't heat up enough at the top to get the butter to melt before the popcorn starts to burn, so I melt the butter separately. I was used to doing that anyway with my air popper. 3) There are little crevices that you can miss when cleaning the components. None of those issues were serious enough to stop me from liking this appliance. However, more annoying problems are the fact that: A) When I flip over the cooking bottom from the bowl and remove and replace it with the cover lid, the lid seems warped and will not snap on and stay attached to the top of the bowl, so when I try to shake up the contents, the popcorn comes flying out, even though I try holding both pieces together while shaking. B) Also, the stirring bar is not at all easy to reattach after cleaning. The stirring bar comes off easily enough but the problem seems to be that the knob must also come completely off the center post to find the right spot to put the stirring bar back on; unfortunately, trying to disconnect that knob can be a challenge. The knob holds on tight and will not easily detach when turned counterclockwise without also turning the entire inside motor in reverse, which makes me concerned that it will eventually damage the motor. I am going to try to exchange it for another unit, to see if I just received a defective appliance.

Great popcorn!
We’d gotten into the habit of buying bags of prepopped popcorn, which was inconvenient and really expensive. Tried some microwave brands and they just didn’t taste as good. So we got this popper and it’s been great! It’s very easy to use and paid for itself in about a month, and the popcorn is about the best we’ve tasted. The quantity is just right for two people and a movie. I use just slightly less than a half cup of kernels because a true half cup sometimes raises the lid just as it finishes popping. Also, I invert the whole assembly when it’s done, before turning it off, because it only takes a few seconds with the stirrer not turning to burn the popcorn. I haven’t had any problems cleaning it and don’t see how it could be easier and still work as well. The bowl and cap are soaked in soapy water along with the stirrer and plastic nut, wiped with a dish sponge, rinsed and dried. The base I wipe with a paper or cloth towel to remove the oil and butter. The non-stick coating wipes clean. It seems unavoidable to get droplets of butter in the countertop; these are actually harder to clean than the popper but still not much work. I do have a few critiques—minor to me but maybe more important to others: There is a lip about a quarter inch wide, on the bottom heated portion, which the clear lid/bowl sits on. It’s too wide, so kernels can sit on the lip and not get popped. This is the main source of the few unpopped kernels we get each time. The clear top isn’t really a reliable bowl because the cap doesn’t stay tight when the bowl cools off, and can leak residual butter and oil on my table or lap. So I dump the popcorn into another bowl. Which is a good time to sprinkle salt in.
