I like everything about this book. It's well laid out and explains the creating of faces in wood very simply and clearly. A must have for any carver of faces.

Absolutely great for anyone wanting a structured and no-nonsense guide to facial ferature carving. Within minutes following this guide I had much higher quality face parts carved, than ever before. A great guide, however it is not in-depth, it does assume the person has familiarity with carving in general, and of course a full set of tools. This isn't an in-depth how-to guide, however it has been EXTREMELY beneficial and pleasing, I heartily recommend it, you will be carving faces in no time! Kindle edition renders beautifully, absolutely no problem :)

A very good book with plenty of pictures taking you through the various stages of wood carving to get to the end product. The book contains helpful guidance and gives a clear indication of what tools are required. As a novice carver the book has been extremely helpful to me. Whilst I may not intend to carve all the figures this books provides, the clarity of content and tips certainly has been an aid to me in helping me to identify carving techniques.

A treasure trove, and fountain of information for the serious wood carver. I feel my skills level will increase dramatically.

This is an area which I dearly wanted to try, face carving, but I always steered away from it. This book gave me the confidence to try it and get very good at it very quickly. Clearly written, excellent pictures and very easily explained. Anyone contemplating their first wood spirit walking stick or, indeed, larger wood carving, should start with this great little book.

A reasonable book, but aimed at the intermediate carver rather than a beginner. Enlow goes straight in, variously using different knives & gouges without any advice on selection of tools or how best to use them, so beware of this if your'e a beginner. The photographs are clear enough to understand the techniques though, so good if you want to build up your skill level.

Easy to follow as an amateur but some good tips.
