I struggled with infertility for over 3.5 years, I’ve taken every test design type there is. Some you pee on, some you dip in a sample, others you add a certain amount of drops to. I’ve taken them all hundreds of times over. It’s a thing with infertility, I don’t expect you to understand, I just wanted to give a view of why my review is important if you are planning to buy this test.With that out of the way, this test itself is cheaply made. Not the holder it’s in, the actual test strip. It is very lacking in dye, which is likely why people have so much trouble with it “not working”.I know my tests, one look at it and I knew it had to dipped in a sample, and likely for longer than the directions were going to recommend. Anyway, I waited until day 3 of my cycle, per the directions, to use it.Day 3I use a disposable sample cup to gather an afternoon urine sample. I’ve restricted fluid for a few hours beforehand. I use afternoon urine based on experience of taking urine test that test for hormones in urine. Typically, afternoon urine is better for picking up Lh and FSH. However, if your FSH level is elevated (what this test is looking for) it doesn’t matter when you test, as long as your urine isn’t diluted.I dip the test in my sample and keep it there until I see the moisture move ALL the way across the test window. This is important! This test has a cheap design where only the top part of the urine area is absorbent, so you have to make sure it’s dipped in your urine sample for long enough to work! Keep it in the urine and wait for the pink color to make it all the way through the results window. This might take a while, maybe even 45 seconds, just be patient.Once the urine has sufficiently moved through my test I lay it flat and wait 15 minutes, per the directions.As I look at the results I notice how much dye this test lacks. Even the control line is light in color. Just so cheap, BUT the results are readable and that’s why I bought it. My test line was half as dark as the control line, which means negative. My second test I took on day 9 of my cycle barely had a second line at all, again a negative result. I somewhat expected negative results since my cycles haven’t become irregular yet, they’ve just shortened by a couple of days.Overall, these test work. They are super cheaply made, but for the price you can’t really expect more.****Directions for best results****1. Use a disposable cup to collect a small sample of urine in. DO NOT pee on the test!2. Open the test, dip the absorbent tip into your urine sample. Make sure only the bottom half of the absorbent tip is in your urine, you don’t want to submerge the entire absorbent stick - just half way.3. Hold the test in the sample until you see the pink dye move across the results window, wait until it moves ALL the way through the window.4. Once the dye has moved through the results window, remove the test from your sample KEEPING THE ABSORBENT END POINTING DOWN, put the cap on, lay it flat. *Be sure not to tip it, meaning don’t lift the absorbent end above the handle at any point while capping it.5. Read the results at 15 minutes.Results:-Only a control line visible = negative-A test line lighter than the control line = negative. As long the test line is lighter it’s negative.-A test line equal in color to, or darker than the control line = positive-Only a test line visible = invalidYes, even if you have a test line visible it doesn’t mean it’s positive. The test line HAS to be as dark as, or darker than the control line to be positive.If you follow these directions these tests should work properly. They aren’t the best tests out there, but for the price they do work.
