A very well designed system
Very high quality indoor (base/hub) and outdoor sensor modules, with excellent supporting mobile and web apps (both proprietary and third party). I hung the outdoor unit in the shed - on a vacant nail. Didn't need to use the included lanyard or plug & screw. It's about 50m away from the base unit. I had small problem with the setup/registration as I already had some Netatmo cameras. I was already registered and could logon the the other Netatmo apps but the process didn't recognise my details - so tried to re-register and it said I was already registered. We've all been HERE before! Anyhow, I eventually succeeded with my original details - the frustrating part being that I'm not quite sure how. So - no 'lessons learned' for you here.I initially had frequent Wi-Fi disconnections from the base unit. It would work for a few hours and then drop out, and would not reconnect without me unplugging and reconnecting the unit. Went to the various help chats and this appears to be a common issue. BUT one of the recommended solutions from Netatmo is to move the unit away from too much wiring and other Wi-Fi devices. I had parked it on top of a hifi speaker and near one of my many Echos (this one being a Dot). I eventually (after much experimentation) positioned it on the floor, in a corner, and beneath the 'Dot' and the speaker. Perfect - hasn't dropped yet. Two days and counting. I have ordered the rain unit and another indoor sensor in the Black Friday event directly from Netatmo (sorry Amazon, much cheaper). Plenty of photos already loaded, so mine are not needed.

Loving the weather!
I was slightly put off by some of the reviews of the Netatmo weather station equipment, but fascinated at the possibility of measuring the weather in our own neighbourhood. I ordered the weather station itself and soon added the rain and weather sensors. They were all very nice units - and with a couple of the mounts I soon had the rain and wind sensors operational. The instruction booklets that come with them could be a little clearer in places (mainly for the additional rain gauge) but quite honestly it didn't take too long to set up.There are a lot of settings that you can tweak in the app (such as compensating for siting the wind gauge at a lower than optimal height). It is fascinating to see the rainfall and wind patterns and I reached the stage of wanting a day of heavy rain to see the results! So far battery usage seems negligible and I've had no problems with the wifi connection (admittedly since we have a new house there is good wifi coverage through the walls). I'd recommend the Netatmo weather station and add-ons whole-heartedly if you have an interest in the weather. Having the opportunity to contribute to the Netatmo Weather Map and Weather Underground is a lovely bonus.

Unreliable, inaccurate, faulty design. Looks good at first but it's not up to the job.
EDIT 21/12/2021: Reduced to one star. We've had three storms so far this year and the Netatmo has let me down every time. The rain gauge has stopped working completely. The outdoor module has been on 100% for over a month and temperature indications are completely wrong. I only installed it 3 months ago. And the reliability of the website is worse than ever.I shopped around a lot when looking for a weather station. I wanted something that collected serious, accurate data to enable me to study the local climate and also to work with my smart home (turn sprinkler on/off when it's dry/raining etc.). Not many fulfil both these objectives and on paper it came down to a choice between the Netatmo and Ambient Weather ws-2902. Since the latter turned out to be difficult to get hold of where I live I went with the Netatmo.Unfortunately after 2 months of struggling on with it I cannot recommend this weather station. The outdoor module is simply inaccurate. I'd already read about other users having problems with water ingress so I made a point of installing it under an overhang so it wouldn't get wet. As far as I know it has never seen a drop of rain. Despite this the humidity reading has been stuck on 100% for most of the time. I've brought it in, taken it apart and found it to be wet inside. I have dried it out, checked the reading (70%), put it back outside and within hours it's back to 100%. There is a clearly a design fault. As soon as it's exposed to high humidity (e.g. fog) the reading never reduces. The humidity issue seems to affect the temperature readings dramatically. My station was reading -3 when all the other stations on Wundermap in the local area were well above zero and there was no frost. Clearly completely wrong. The rain gauge has always had a tendency to underread but the bigger issue is that occasionally it stops working completely. Today it rained for 8 hours non-stop and according to my rain gauge the total was 2.1mm. Every other rain gauge in the region was reading 11-20mm. And now it stopped raining 4 hour ago but according to my rain gauge it's still raining. So completely wrong.Moving on to the user interface, which is web based.... it's only accessible through the internet. So if the Netatmo server is down (which seems to be quite regularly at the moment) or you have no internet access it's impossible to see the readings. So you can be sitting 3 feet away from the thing but unable to get readings off of it. Infuriating. The interface has very limited scope for data analysis. You cannot view indoor and outdoor temperatures on the same chart for example. And the timescales are fixed to day/week/month so you cannot see how much rain fell since 12 o'clock yesterday for example. The scales on the charts adjust automatically making it difficult to make comparisons and it uses nonsensical major gridlines - I'm looking at my rain gauge chart at the moment and the major gridlines are 0.2 / 0.5 / 0.8 / 1.0, so differing intervals, but the actual gaps between the lines on the chart are the same so it's impossible to read the bars on the chart accurately. As you zoom out of a chart it starts hiding data points and you lose detail - to the point where you just get long straight lines and you cannot see big changes in data.It is possible to download the data in Excel or csv format to analyse it in more detail and at first it looks good. You get more data points than the web interface typically shows and you have control of the scales etc. But if you look more closely you start to realise that the recording interval varies considerably. Sometimes every four minutes, sometimes every five minutes and sometimes there are great big gaps in data but it doesn't record a zero or blank it just records the next data point. So you might see rows of times like this: 0905 / 0910 / 0914 / 1044 / 1149 / 1155 / 1159. Worse than this, each module records on its own interval so whilst the indoor module is recording 0905 / 0910 / 0914 your outdoor module is recording 0858 / 0902 / 0906. This causes all sorts of problems when you try to plot the data on a chart.I knew there was no UV sensor when I bought the Netatmo - it's one of the major features it lacks compared to the Ambient Weather, but I didn't expect to miss it as much as I do. For smart home automation it means being unable to do things like increase watering when it's been a sunny day. That's quite a comprehensive list of what's wrong with it. Things I do like are the range of the wireless signals on the outdoor/rain modules. Much better than any wireless weather station I've had before. The integration with IFTT is seamless and very straightforward. I didn't think I needed an indoor CO2 sensor but it has been quite an eye opener. I now open a window when it goes above 1000ppm and I'm convinced I am all the better for it. And I like the Netatmo weathermap which allows you to see readings from other stations (though I think that is freely accessible so I could have had that without spending £150).All in all I cannot recommend Netatmo weather stations. It's not reliable enough and not accurate enough and if you are serious about being able to study weather data you will be disappointed.

new toy
Pros:- looks nice- easy to set up- quite useful. Notifications about co2 force me off the coach to ventilate room. [I think I have a problem with ventilation in general, gotta get that fixed].Cons:- no display, even LED on the base unit lights up only on touch- app is a bit weak, especially around graphs/data visualization. E.g. it's not possible to overlay graphs to show multiple lines.- round shape of external unit was not convenient for me. It would have been much easier if it was rectangular.
