I submitted the 'one star' review below, and within a few days received feedback from the supplier suggesting that although the light still worked, it could be that the batteries were too low to activate the sensor effectively. I changed the batteries, and lo and behold, the sensor is working again. I've re-used the old batteries for another purpose. I am impressed with the response of the supplier, who had also offered to send a replacement should the change of battery not work. Hence, I am updating my review of only one star to the 4 above.I bought 2 LED battery wall sconces for use in a dark hallway corner with a step, and I was delighted with them at first. They worked well on 'automatic' using the motion sensor to start with, but one has now proven faulty and useless after only a month of use. Instead of staying off when there is no motion, it flashes off and then on repeatedly, using up the batteries. The second one has only been in use for a couple of weeks, and I am hoping that this one will not prove faulty over time. Needless to say, on this basis, I could not recommend this product. It is a real disappointment, as they had been really useful, and worked so well at first.

I have a few of these lights now. The first one I had as a review item, but after using it purchased several for family. I put mine under my porch where solar lights are useless. Now when approaching the door, the light comes on and I can see the lock and open the door easily. My parents have done the same at the front and rear of their house to help see the steps. Other family members have used then on steps leading to a cellar, in the shed, in a cupboard etc.It takes 4 x AA batteries and can be fixed by either adhesive pads or by screwing the back plate into the wall or roof. The light then slides over this and holds it in place. There is an off/on/auto switch. We keep it on auto so that the sensor detects movement and lights up. When the batteries are getting lower, we find that the light tends to keep coming on and off, a very slow flicker. Replacing the batteries at this time corrects it. Also found that rechargeable batteries are not as good as the alkaline ones, they do not seem to last at all.There are 2 lights, the main one which is a strip of LED's that bounce light down, and 2 LEDs as down lighters. When upside down, the down lighters point to the door to get the full light effect.Overall a really good light. Some of the newer ones rather than having a switch use a push button, but they still work exactly the same way with the same LED's and settings.

The light is good and seems well made but I can only give it max 4* because you have to position it quite carefully to get it to sense movement. I wanted it for a dark porch but it wouldn't work in the position I'd hoped to use it so it's now relegated to the airing cupboard. Replaced with a small strip led sensor light which works perfectly in the same position for the porch. The company did contact me and provide a replacement which was unexpected (and went towards the 4th star) but the sensor on the strip lamp still has the edge over this one

Very stylish modern looking light.This worked great at first, however after a week or so it started to stay on all night!We have it in the bathroom and as we used to leave the main light on all night for toilet visits its not really a problem for us that it stays on.The only drawback I guess, is that the batteries wont last very long!I have also noticed that it often comes on during the daytime too.Its a shame really that it has these glitches, as its a brilliant idea and if it worked correctly it would be wonderful.

Brought to provide light as I get to my front door in a slightly set-back alcove. Arrived very promptly. Sticky pads did not work to fix it to a rough-rendered external wall, but screwed on very easily (screws and rawl plugs provided). Sensor switches on as I get up to the door, no problems of it switching on unnecessarily when neighbours walk by! Gives the very 'blue' white light, looks subtle. It would be good if it had an option to have a longer time span before it switches off, but very suitable for purpose - lets me get key sorted out and into house.

I was not sure how bright these would be so bought 2. They are mounted on my bathroom wall and I wish I had thought of them sooner. Get up in the middle of the night and we no longer need to switch the main light on which also turns on a noisy extractor fan. They do switch off after about 15 seconds but any slight movement and they come back on. When bathing we switch them on and have a much softer light than using the main overhead light.Edit: We bought these on 23rd December and were really pleased, for 3 weeks. Now they both keep turning on even if no-one is in the room! That cannot be right so we will be contacting the manufacturer to ask why, or possibly return them.

Great little light. There are a couple of these lights around - they look the same but operate differently. This one has 3 options on a switch. Auto, for automatically coming on when motion is detected, On, for keeping illuminated without motion detection ( for use as a normal light) and Off -obviously for off completely. The other has a button operation and works only with motion detection and no option to keep the light on permanently if that's what you want. I thought this little light was great so bought 2 more from another supplier and received the other type which doesn't allow you to keep the light on if required. I have since returned them and bought another two of these. Very pleased that they were the ones I need with the option of keeping the light on when needed. You have the choice of screwing them to the required surface or using the double sided sticky pads (both are in the pack) I used the sticky pads and when changing the batteries, the sconce just slides off the back, making battery replacement easy.
