Great performer, robust and provides all the flexibility I need.
I sing and play rhythm guitar in a band and it became clear I needed a good monitoring solution but also something that would aid personal practice. I was really torn initially as I was thinking about going down the in-ear monitoring root but I don’t like wearing them and it didn’t tick all my boxes so I opted for the Behringer and I’m pleased I did. Below I’ve listed all my requirements and how the Behringer copes with them; 1) Self monitoring vocals in band practice: Brilliant, I just set plug in the mic (via a vocal effects unit) adjust the gain and go for it. We don’t use a PA but It’s loud enough to cope with competing against a drum kit in a compact space. Vocals come across crisp and clear. 2) Self monitoring guitar in band practice: During practice I just plug the guitar in via an effects module that does amp modelling (Zoom G2) and it works a charm with this on one channel and the vocals on the other. In all honesty I prefer the sound that comes out of my Roland Cube 30 but that might be because I need to have a play around with the settings on my effects unit and it means I only have to carry one small unit around instead of a heavy guitar amp and separate vocal PA. 3) Home Practice: Basically set it up the same as in band practice with the added bonus of having a channel to run an additional sound source through (MP3 player etc…). 4) On stage monitoring: Works great! Being a compact unit it’s quite directional which is good from an overall sound on stage perspective as it doesn’t merge too much with everyone else’s sounds. Also means I don’t have to go too loud to complete with everyone else as long as I have it pointed at me. 5) Small and compact: The D205D is beautifully compact, it has some weight in the sense that it feels like a quality item but it’s a lot easier to cart about compared to older style floor wedges I used to have to cart about! Great for practice at home as well, doesn’t take up much room. 6) Robust: Haven’t had it long so can’t attest for longevity but I can see that the product appears very well constructed. The casing is thick hard plastic, the knobs feel well secured and rotate smoothly, buttons and switches work fine and all sockets seem to work well with no looseness. I’m expecting this to last a while and it seems at least as well made of higher end amps and monitors I have used. 7) Solo performance: I may one day decide to do some solo acoustic work, maybe with a backing track. I could do all that and mix it with this unit and simply output it to another active speaker (maybe even another B205D) pointed at the audience. I haven’t done this but you can see how it wouldn’t be a problem to implement and would create an very light weight travelling setup. So a great bit of kit! Surprisingly loud for such a small unit, I know it’s 150w but even still you don’t expect it to perform that well considering I’ve seen bigger hand bags. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a small footprint monitoring solution with some added flexibility of having a couple of channels to play with.

Behringer B205D Eurolive 150W PA/Monitor Speaker System
This is a great piece of equipment for the money through Amazon. I originally purchased it as a feedback monitor for my Korg Pa3X arranger keyboard played through my powered Peavey mixer PA system. The Behringer has three inputs, one I use for the Korg keyboard main sounds, the second can also be a dedicated input for a microphone through which I put my Shure mic, outputted via a separate line out on the Korg, or it can be used for another instrument. The Behringer even has phantom power available for a condenser mic! The third input is for a CD player or computer sound output. There are three EQ controls, three volume controls and the jack for the mic can be standard jack or XLR for condenser mics. There are also two thru outputs on the rear for other speakers or devices. The quality of sound including the vocals is superb and I now use the Behringer on its own as a practice amplifier. When I mix the keyboard sounds and vocals and save them as a song set up on the Korg Pa3X, the sound then played through the Peavey is virtually identical and no further adjustments are needed. The only very small criticism is that on rare occasions on high volume, not surprisingly,it gets overloaded with the accompaniments with some small popping sounds from a drum track, but this is easily eliminated with a little tweaking from the keyboard drum track control. Don't let this put you off buying this fine, versatile piece of equipment from Amazon though! A similar competitive model to this is twice the price with the same facilities! I am going to buy a second Behringer unit through Aamazon. I can then have stereo keyboard sounds, more power and the two would even work as a back up in the event of a failure in the main system. Good little monitor
Pros: - Good sound with a little EQ tweak (see picture) - Loud enough for a personal monitor in a four-piece pub rock band. - Good build quality. Feels rugged. - Good quality adaptors supplied for mounting on a dedicated or combined stand - Perfect size for pub gigs. - Volume & EQ controls at the front make it so easy to set up even on the fly - Versatile inputs. I guess for when you're using it as a P.A? cons: - Feedback issues when used on the same stand as your mic - Main volume knob rotates with the vibration of normal use I.e. it gets louder as you play. My opinion: I'm really pleased with it. So far it's proving to be better than the floor monitor I used to use and the in-ear solution I also tried. Now I can hear all four vocal mics clearly and that hasn't been the case with the other monitors I've used. The sound is okay. I'd even say 'decent' and you can E.Q it which is a plus in my book. The volume seems plenty loud enough although I have discovered it is best to have a good, powerful signal coming from the desk so I have the Aux-out set to around 7 or 8 then I can run the B205D with it's main volume set at around 6. This gives me some scope to wind it it up a bit if I need to. Having it on a stand right in front of me with the controls at the front is perfect. Particularly when we don't have a lot of time to sound check. If I'm not happy with my stage sound I can make EQ & volume changes quite easily whenever a hand is free. The main volume knob creeping up with vibration is annoying but I'll fix that sometime with a felt washer. Blue-tac in the meantime!

Great little monitor amp - excellent value.
Great little monitor amp. I am using this with a Behringer B207MP3 as a pair of foldback monitors with a small PA set up. The larger 207 does have a little bit more bass, but in a foldback situation this isn't even always useful. This speaker certainly provides more than enough volume in a small PA monitor scenario. It's being used as foldback with vocals acoustic guitar and piano. There is a drummer who isn't miked up and this is quite loud enough. I've also used it as a small PA on its own with a guitar and microphone and an audience of 40-50 people and it's fine. It's also great for background music at family parties etc. as it's really quite small and easy to just stick in the car with an iPod or laptop for music etc. It's not the greatest build quality the front controls have a little bit of 'play' and could get damaged if not looked after but for normal use it is excellent value and almost half the price of other similar products.

A great bit of portable kit for the price.
This item was bought for use in our church. We particularly wanted to produce a decent sound from by the screen when projecting videos via a laptop. It works well, producing clear sound acrooss the hall. As a keyboard player I have also used it as a second active speaker for music from our pa system. Again I am impressed by the performance from such a small portable item. I like the fact that mikes (via xlr leads) can be plugged in directly, as can instruments such as my keyboard, when working in smaller rooms, without the need for our big amp and mixer. An added benefit is that besides the overall volume control, each input can be balanced independently. We have utilised the provided adaptor to mount the unit on a small mike stand although it is ok on the floor or a table. It is lightweight and has also proved useful in presentations for school assemblies in out local infant and junior schools. I consider it really good value for the money.

Does the job.
Excellent piece of kit. Works as a practice amp, PA, monitor or active speaker. It's small and light enough to carry around but packs a real punch from its 150 watts. Some say it lacks bass but for the size of speaker I'd say it delivers; more than adequately for guitar and vocals, with a third channel for a backing track.

Excellent little monitor
I am a Drummer and also do a bit of backing vocals. I struggled at gigs to hear the guitar, lead and backing vocals. Our venues are usually Bars and Pubs so monitors are never available. I purchased this little guy so that I can hear my backing vocals and make the small little pitch corrections as I sing. There was another cheaper model that Behringer make that I also most purchased but read some really bad reviews on the sound quality. This monitor has great volume range that you can adjust on the front, as well as the a full EQ and a little knob that actually sweetens the tome of the sound. The one thing I did mark it down for was the angle that it sits at when it's placed to the left or right of my kit. It's not pointing up as you would expect a monitor to do, so I need to wedge a towel or something under the monitor to have it pointing at me rather than my ankles. You can mount it on a mic stand but that's an additional expense and one more thing to carry around. Overall - I would definitely recommend.

Superb Value
I bought this as a personal monitor for use when out gigging in a ceilidh (barn dance) band, to be able to hear the rest of the band over the drum kit, after other band members bought their own. The sound is crystal clear, with more than enough power output for my use. For mounting, Microphone Stand Boom with FREE Mic Clip - HEAVY DUTY Steel Construction works well, on the top of the stand with the boom removed (as it is designed). The boom can then be fitted to the top for a mic to be attached. When playing CDs, it would be wise to pair it up with a decent subwoofer though, as the bass end is a little lacking. However, this is to be expected with a speaker this size. This said, when I used it for a compact P.A. for a scout AGM (in a fairly small scout hut), the people announcing still boomed with bass when they were they got a bit close to the mic ( Behringer XM1800S Ultravoice Dynamic Microphone (Pack of 3) ). Last thing to mention is the RMS power - 120W. A slight let down on the advertised 150W (peak), but for the price, far better value than the small 2x speaker + amp kits that only boast around 100W for twice the amount as this!
