Pens are streets ahead of anything else on the market.
I bought a single pen before buying this big set- these are fabulous pens. The brush end is very flexible and you can get a very narrow line, and a broader one, just with pressure. It is very smooth to use and clear lines. So they make great lettering pens. They are water soluble, so equivelant to a loaded paintbrush. There are Lots of You Tube reviews, and often there is a complaint about how they react with water on paper. Like any water colour you need to wet the paper slightly ahead, or it will be less smooth in shading. They work really well on watercolour paper, which is where they really perform best. The colours are great ( set of 60) some are quite bright/ synthetic hues, and I'm not greatly enamoured by neon colours, which there are neon pink, orange, yellow and green. I would highly recommend these pens, the quality of brush is great. These are very well priced ( I saw same box on Simon Says Stamp. com for $207 !) but they are still quite expensive for pens, until you get to have a go. They are streets ahead of other pens. I'd advise maybe to buy one to try. But if you enjoy lettering and watercolours you'll love these. I've seen people using with stamps, to colour images as well as on the stamp it's self as an ink. I'm delighted with them. They do all come individually wrapped, which is a test of patience, but twisting cap and body seems to be easiest way to unwrap. Enjoy them.

Thank You Kuretake <3
I can not praise these pens enough. They are even better than what i had imagined. i'm not really an artist so i'm sorry i can't give much insight on this product in that sense. however, as someone who just wanted to find clean, hassle free streaming colour, i am beyond happy with these pens. i had bought about 6 different styles of colour pen sets from a range of companies and these by far, are the best. in fact, i have not even used any of the pens from my other sets. that's how much i love them. it has become one of my all time favourite items and i will keep purchasing them in order to never have to go a day without them. honestly i'm in love. thank you Kuretake for a TRULY amazing product. i really don't have enough words of appreciation, but you have my deepest and heartfelt gratitude for these wonderful pens, which in my eyes, are beyond perfect.

Bit disappointed
These are beautiful pens but so far one of them has dried up already. I really expected them to last longer than a cheap marker considering their price

Kuretake Clean Colour Real Brush Watercolour
With the right watercolour card, these can be used to shade, blend and mix colours. Great little pens, last ages (never run one out yet) They take a bit of getting used to as the colours are so bold, but worth the effort.

Lovely to use and versatile
Love, love, love these colouring brushes. So glad I discovered them! The colours are bright and flow easily, and mix well to get different colours or tonal shading. They are also very versatile - from colouring stamps or freehand work in card-making or scrap-booking, to colouring-in books, to watercolour painting. I wouldn't give up my watercolour paints or colour pencils in exchange for these, but they are a great addition to my craft toolkit.

Could be selling old stock
Very disappointed, used Kuretake product for many years and always happy, but first time with Clean Colour and so very disappointed, majority of pens are almost dried out and not fit for purpose.

Brilliant
Love these pens, I am a card crafter and use them for colouring in my stamped projects, the colours blend really well, the tips are really good for fine lines or for filling in. I have used lots of other pens that are made for crafters but none of them are as good as these, I thought long and hard before getting these read all the reviews,it was only when I saw them being used on a craft channel that I made up my mind ( they were selling them for a lot more ) so glad I did. The back ground in the picture was not done with these pens just the mouse and cake.

These markers are just beautiful, and so easy to use. You can use the vibrant colour in so many ways - directly from the marker nib, or splash onto a palette and mix with other colours, or guache, or dilute with water. You have so much control, that even without previous exposure you can dive right in and create your own masterpieces!

These are excellent, unique wc-type brush pens, but they work best with the use of a water-brush as well, to blend in stroke-lines and graduate the color. (They don't work the same as a regular brush and watercolors creating pools that blend without lines. You have to add the liquid to the paper before the color dries..) Zig Kuretake are high-quality across the board. Always. With everything they make. I have and use many of their pen varieties... I am very happy with the 60-color set, though be forewarned that it includes 48 newer colors plus the colors from the original 12-color set , so if that is what you started with first, like me, you will have at least 12 color repeats... I don't mind, as they were ready to replace anyway after nearly 5 yrs., but If you are serious about collecting these pens, the best tip I can give is to start with the 90-color set, if it's in the budget, then add on to those colors with the unique 30-color sets they bring out new each year. This way there are no repeats. They are also sold individually at many art stores, so I will supplement the colors I am missing between the 60 and 90 sets and build on from there. My pens have all lasted me at least 4 yrs. and still going strong... I have yet to have one dry out on me.. At first I didn't think lighter and darker shades of the same tones were necessary, but later learned that using various shades together and blending the edges was the way to really make these pens and your creations pop. I now want them all! It's also very helpful to turn the pens upside down in their clear case so that the colored ends are easily visible instead of their white caps, and definitely keep a log or swab-book with both the number and color-name for no-confusion ordering and reference... Shipping from Japan they arrived in perfect condition and 1 week early, in case you're wondering, and all of them fresh and juicy!!! Zero damage. I have already moved on to my next 30 new-color set!

How I love, love, love using these brush markers. My copics have been delegated to the back of the cupboard to make room for these, and wow, are they just gorgeous to use. I much prefer water-based than alcohol, and the colour range of these is amazing. They also blend so beautifully. The brush is smooth and fine, so getting into the details is possible in ways that other pens simply can't achieve. The colours are quite rich, so it's worth getting the blender if you like using paler colours or blending out to a fade. Watercolour pens work well with these too, however, I've found the blender to be the best when aiming for a smooth, even diluted colour. The quality of paper makes a HUGE difference, and I've found them to blend well on smooth cardstock or ivory paper if in colouring books (like the paper in Johanna Basford's books). They also work really well on watercolour paper, however much more ink is used and I've found I have less control with blending because the paper absorbs so much ink so quickly. Using them on wet watercolour paper is also good but they very much behave similar to watercolour paint, in that you're best to allow the ink to do it's own thing and go with its flow, than try to control it too much. I've found it best to dab colours to blend and play with on an acrylic or silicone palette, then use my blending marker or a water brush to apply to the page when I want to apply or blend with lighter or diluted dark shades. The skin tones you see in the image I've shared are not included with this set but can be purchased separately in the portrait set (6). I also used watercolour pencils to complement some of the colours I used from the 60 set.
