What an absolutely brilliant 'Double Edge Safety Razor the JARGEN DAVID E01 is. I have not used a double edge safety razor in ''' YEARS ''' and neither had I seen them in the supermarkets. It seems that the 'razor market ' had been taken over by the big razor companies who were producing and selling plastic disposable razors in their masses ; and how expensive they could turn out to be in the long run, because with many brands I would not get more than one shave out of them; and that was not even a good shave !It was not until I was searching the AMAZON website for another unrelated product, that I came across this Double Edge Safety Razor sold in a Silver Colour and also a Gold Colour. As stated I had not seen them in years, but remembered what a good close shave this kind of shaver gave me back in those days. It was a simple and easy system to change the blade, and the blades were cheap enough to buy/Seeing the JAGEN DAVID Double Edge Razor advertised on AMAZON brought back good memories of them. I showed the photographs of them to a friend who was also interested in buying them , and so I ordered two, one was gold and the other silver coloured , other than that, they were both the same. Delivery was swift, and well within the advised delivery time. The two I ordered arrived well and securely packaged and free from damage, and looked great in a neat and compact slim-line presentation box, with a small mirror fitted within it, which was ideal for use when going on holiday. This double edge safety razor was the best bit of razor kit I had bought in yearsI prefer a 'wet shave' with a brush and shaving soap or cream. I found that this JAGEN DAVID razor which I purchased ( with a 100 pack of double edge razor blades ) gave me the perfect close shave that no other razor of the plastic disposable type, or an electric razor could do....and besides, buying the 100 pack of blades and using them with this razor, I know that I will save £pounds in the long run. so IT'S NO MORE PLASTIC DISPOSABLE RAZORS FOR ME !!!I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS VERY GOOD QUALITY, STYLE AND APPEARANCE OF THE " E01 JAGEN DAVID DOUBLE EDGE RAZOR which I purchased from AMAZON. ....But when buying, don't forget to buy a pack of Double Edge Safety Razor Blades to go with it. There are several different brands of double edge safety razor blades to choose from on AMAZON, (I bought the premium brand ); so now with my JAGEN DAVID, I get the perfect shave every time.

I was completely new to double edged shaving and decided to try it out mainly because I heard it gives a much better shaving experience. This turned out to be very true. The first thing I would recommend for anyone doing this for the first time is to watch a few tutorials on how to shave with this kind of razor correctly. This may sound a bit silly to people who have been shaving for many years but this blade is certainly not as forgiving as contemporary razors. I have been shaving for many years but I'm pretty sure I would have cut myself with this razor had I not checked out the tutorials. The razor is quite heavy in the handle and smaller than your average razor. I really like the size and shape and find it comfortable to hold, giving decent precision. A different technique is required from modern razors and care is essential. I have been using Arko soap (which smells incredible in my opinion but it is a love or hate sort of smell) and Astra Platinum blades. This combination seem to be very affective, although I do not have enough experience to compare this to any other soaps and blades. I have seen people lathering in various ways but I take a small amount of soap, put it into a bowl, wet my brush and work it into the soap. It creates a very thick lather that is very protective. Do not apply any pressure with the razor, it is sharp enough to do all the work by itself. Applying any more than a slight amount of pressure will result in cutting your face. That being said, as long as you take care, take your time and check out the tutorials online, it is quite safe. I have been taking 2 passes initially shaving my entire face with the grain and on the second pass shaving against the grain. This has resulted in the closest shave I have ever had. I use an alum block after shaving which prevents shaving irritation and literally seals up any small nicks as if by magic. Finally I use some regular moisturiser for hydration. You will defiantly notice a difference in the comfort of skin afterwards. I have absolutely no irritation whatsoever and my skin feels softer. I would recommend double edged shaving to anyone. It is significantly more time consuming (however I think I could get faster with practice) and it is more dangerous then modern shaving, but it really isn't as dangerous as some people make out, just take your time and it is quite obviously better than modern shaving. And much cheaper too!

Ich als Frau wollte diese „Safety Razor“ auch mal ausprobieren, dazu aber nicht direkt sehr viel Geld in die Hand nehmen. In diesem Produkt habe ich da eine sehr gute Lösung gefunden. Qualitativ wirkt der Rasierhobel sehr Wertigkeit, er liegt schwer in der Hand - hat also ein gewisses Eigengewicht, was für gute Rasierergebnisse schon wichtig ist - und die „Mechanik“ funktioniert sehr gut.Einem Vor-Rezensenten muss ich allerdings zustimmen: Gold ist ein sehr hübsches Kupfer! Ich habe ein bisschen auf die Wahrheit dieser Aussage spekuliert und bin daher sehr zufrieden, aber die Farbangabe ist doch schon falsch :-)Schön ist auch, dass der Rasierhobel in einem kleinen Etui kommt, so ist er immer sicher aufgehoben. Der Spiegel darin ist für mich jetzt nicht so wichtig, aber ja vielleicht für die Herren der Schöpfung, die unterwegs noch schnell ihr Gesicht rasieren wollen :-)
