First of all I'd like to say that the delivery was super quick. I ordered the filter floss from all pond solutions as well and that came super quick bearing in mind that it's been the Easter break. Anyway back to the review for the carbon.This is for my marine tank and in the package there are 10 boxes of 400grams each within a net. You could cut the net in half and seal it with a cable tie if you have a nano tank. I intend to replace it every three to four weeks. It's in pellet form and needs a real good wash until the water runs clear. Quite a lot of black comes out of it but once its in your tank it won't release anymore due to not being agitated and being in a stationery position. After putting it in the tank, within an hour the tank was sparking and free from any tank odour. I will definitely order this again as for the price it's a good deal.

This product was already well cleaned before I got it so just a quick rinse and in it went. 1 box of this is the perfect amount for the top tier of an oase bio master ext. Fantastic product, delivered next day. You cant possibly ask for anything more.

Pellets are cylindrical so tend to roll about, better shape would be gravel or cubic form.

Ideal for external pond filtration systems, used to remove dissolved toxins (ammonia, nitrites and nitrates). Also removes medications so remove before medicating pond water. Just rinse and place entire mesh bag in the external filter box.(between macro filtration and foam layers) Replace every two months in the first instance and then 3 monthly. I used mine to help control an algal bloom in my pond after increasing the size of the pond and affecting nitrogen cycle, balance of pond. Works by removing dissolved Nitrates (fertilizer for microalgae) as did not want to use chemical control.. Excellent value for money.

Good quality charcoal wash's clear in no time and last for months before they need changing. I just monitor the water condition and as soon as there is a change I replace the charcoal. I will buy again and I recommend.

Bought this for my 94lt fresh water tank. Water looks nice and clear and potentially this is a cost effective way of helping to keep a fish tank clean. I read the reviews before purchase - some said it needs a lot of rinsing before use. How difficult can that be? Actually, after around 10 minutes of washing it through the supplied mesh bag rather than waste even more water, I gave up. The bathroom basin was so black it looked like it had tangled with a distraught squid. To be fair the product does state it needs rinsing, as do many other brands. Plan B was to empty one of the two old filter media bags in the tank and refill with a smaller amount of activated carbon to test in the filter box.This seems to have worked well. The tank water didn't turn black from carbon run-off and looks great - nice and clear. Next water change, I'll do the same with the second bag and hope that the result remains as good.
