Second Skin
Excellent review of cultural practices of how we look at textiles. The book provides a new way to upcycle and make designer one of a kind items from your favorite clothing. Global mending technique practices are provided for those who wish to treasure and reinvent a garment. This book is a valuable asset to your textile library collection. The book's subject matter is unique unto itself. The author showcases many well respected individuals in the field of bringing back textile handwork as designer level fabrication, sustaining lost techniques, and as an art form. Fabulous details and photos.

Second Skin is influencing my second skin
It is an extremely thought provoking book. I chewed it up the first time I read it. I am now rereading at a much slower pace. It was recommended to me by title and author. I jumped into it without a real sense of what the book was about. This book offers a way with textiles that is not mainstream. I would love to live as this woman does, but it would never work for me. However, I have adopted some of her practices and have invented some of my own. I have stopped purchasing throw-away clothes and am thinking more about what I wear and down sizing my wardrobe and creating to wear for a lifetime.

IT'S A LIFESTYLE REVOLUTION!
Discovered India Flint only this year. Her innovative design and environment preservation ideas, along with her respect for living textile history are well worth the read for anyone interested in textiles reinvention, upcycling, natural dying techniques, and more. I am finding this book to be refreshing and inspiring.... A real keeper for people who have a love for textile. Excellent addition to ones library.

beautifully produced and presented
This is a precious book, beautifully produced and presented. Its underlying principle is thoughtful and reverential respect for the environment in the production and maintenance of the garments we wear in addition to a philosophical approach embraced in a lifestyle in harmony with our surroundings. It does give a lot of practical information too but for me it is the therapeutic effect of the book itself along with the illustrative material and the gentle presentation which makes it a valuable item in my book collection.

India Flint is amazing. Writes very organically
India Flint is amazing. Writes very organically, easy to understand. I am a big fan of echo dyeing, have taken work shops here on the Oregon coast. Such a surprise when it comes out of the dye bath. The book is inspirational. Thank you India Flint!! I just wish you came to Oregon coast to give work shops.

India Flint
What an innovative thinker - literally outside the box (or skin, as it were). After reading India Flint's book, I have cause to rethink around clothing and textiles. Very inspiring and motivating.

I enjoy India's way of life
The book was fun, colorful and full of good knowledge. I have made a gardener's apron with some Boro stitching on it. And plan several more garments with pattern made with pure instinct in India Flint style.
