Typical Tamiya quality..... excellent fit of parts and great detail (considering the age of the kit).

This summer I had a bet with my kids that I could go without using any form of electronics for 24 hours, if they could go without TV. I decided to build an Airfix Spitfire in that time. I thoroughly enjoyed it and decided to build a few more models as a result. So I'm not an expert but .... This is a beautifully designed model and a real joy to build. Tamiya have clearly put a lot of thought into it and taken a great deal of care with the manufacturing processes. The result is a very smooth build and a completed model you can be proud of, especially if you add in some Eduard photo etched parts! What did the kids do in their 24 hours? Great kit from Tamiya, overall fit is generally good, with just the fuselage seamlines that need to be removed and the fit of the canopy wasn't brilliant, so some work there to resolve the issue. Oh and the decals, well, that's a common issue with earlier Tamiya kits - they are way too thick. I replaced them with after market decals, I also used Eduard photoetch and mask for the canopy. Else, not much to complain about and builds into an accurate and good looking model. Aside from the 1/32 version Tamiya do (that's excellent), this is the best Mosi kit out there as I write.

I purchased this model after reading all the excellent reviews about it. Does it live up to the hype, yes it certainly does. The parts are attached to seven runners , all doubled up in individual wrapping, which is very good, i think this is a general Tamiya thing. The molding is excellent with a lot of fine detail, not much plastic flashing so not to much trimming to be done.the clear plastic parts are of good quality with good detail. Good comprehensive instructions and color call outs. A separate sheet details positions of the decals. Some good painting skills are needed to finish this model to the standard it deserves. I think this is one of the best Mosquitos at this scale.

A great kit. This kit was straightforwards a to put together and looks amazing now it is built. It came with a full size masking pattern which we wish was in every kit. There is a lot of detail on the plane, the joins are all smooth and tight too. All in all a great kit for the money.

Je ne l'ai pas encore monté, mais à l'ouverture de la boîte on se rend vite compte de la qualité des nombreuses pièces qui composent le kit.

本製品は1998年の初版から20年以上が経過しましたが、現在でも1/48スケールのモスキートとしてはベストと呼べるキットです。 本製品は傑作機シリーズのターニングポイントともなったキットで、今までは目立たないディテールを極力省略して組み立て易さを追求するスタイルでしたが、本製品以降は目立たない箇所まで精密に再現したディテール重視のキットとなっており、そのスタイルは現在でも変わっていない様に思います。 個人的にはサクッと完成できる旧スタイルも好きでしたね。 もっともディテール重視の為にパーツ数は増えましたが、タミヤらしい高いパーツ精度は相変わらずなので、組み立てのストレスは最低限です。 同スケールのモスキートは、古くはモノグラムとエアフィックス、近年ではドイツレベル等もありますが、総合的に勝る本製品がお薦めと言えるでしょう。
