Believe the reviews and hype! Replaced my 15 year old GHDs. Got them on a prime day deal for £20. I can't believe the quality for the price. I have long wavy hair. These straightened with 1-2 pass throughs and my hair stayed straight the next day as well (this never happens) and felt really silky and shiny.

I bought these as my ghd’s developed a fault under warranty and will take up to 14 days to be fixed/replacedI researched and found these, a quarter of the cost of my ghd’s, they heat up fast and straighten my hair just as goodI highly recommend these

So I’ve always been an avid GHD user since my teenager years but unfortunately they have decided to break on me and finances aren’t the best right now. After some research, I decided to take a chance on these as I’ve heard nothing but positive feedback.Ordered yesterday & arrived at lunch time today which was handy as I’d just washed and dried my hair so could give them a go right away! Very securely packed in a lovely design box and a great little pouch inside to put the straighteners in if travelling or just day to day use.Lovely colouring and style, I especially love the blue, white and black combination and works lovely for that modern, sleek design. Comes with an instruction booklet but I think straighteners are pretty self explanatory anyway.I got these plugged in and decided to give them a go! The buttons are ideal so you can change from temp 150 to 230 depending on you hair thickness and what style you are looking to achieve (FYI - these don’t take too long to heat up to desired temperature). I divided my hair into sections like I usually do and started gliding the straighteners through my hair and my god, they are straight away giving me the straight locks that my GHDs did but probably in a fraction of the time!! The tagline “shine therapy” certainly comes into play with these as my hair was left shiny and looking in brilliant condition. Didn’t take me long at all to to from dull, frizzy and curly hair to sleek, shiny and straight hair!Overall, you’d be daft not to purchase these if you’re needing a new pair! Why pay GHD prices when you can pay this for the same, if not better results!!!

Looks good heats very well, but the item gets hot on the outside as the material is plastic ,therefore cannot be touched while straightening the hair. Would not buy again for that reason

I got this Remington Shine Therapy Straightener / Styler on offer, so it was a bargain. I’ve used GHDs since 2002, having tried pretty much every model since it started. My current GHD is the platinum + model, and I have also tried their newest model, the Chronos, but I can honestly say that this Remington Shine Therapy straightener works better on my hair, straightening and curling it more quickly.I have naturally wavy/ fluffy hair, which is quite fine but there’s a lot of it. It goes very frizzy as soon as there’s a bit of drizzle/humidity and I can never blow dry it anywhere near straight. When it fluffs up, it looks like a lion’s mane.I’ve only been using these for a few days, but am blown away by how great they are. The plates are also longer than ghds, which I find makes them easier to curl/wave with, and quicker to straighten with.When switched on, they heat up quickly, though the temperature display seems to flash for a couple of minutes (I haven’t timed it), which I believe indicates they are still heating up. However, I feel they work great even when the display is still flashing. When they switch on, they default to 190 degrees, so if you want them cooler or hotter, you just need to adjust with the buttons. I find 190 to be perfect for my hair, though I haven’t tried it cooler.It glides through my hair so easily. I can’t believe how quickly and effectively it straightens my hair; it has never felt softer or looked healthier. It’s great at curling/waving too, producing long lasting waves for a natural beachy look.There’s a button to lock the plates closed when not in use. This is a great idea but I do sometimes find it a little stiff so I tend not to use it. It’s not something that’s featured on any of my ghds before, so I will probably just continue to use the silicone sleeve I have from my ghd platinums, which holds the styler closed.If I straighten my hair with this, it remains pretty straight until I wash it again (sometimes just needing a straightening top up if it’s been tied in a ponytail. I needed to straighten my hair daily with my GHDs regardless of whether it was a hair wash day or not.The results are so much better with this than my ghds. I should also state that I have used cloud 9s too, which I didn’t think were that great.I can honestly say that this is the best straightener/styler I have ever used. I think I’d just assumed that no one would ever make anything anywhere near as good as ghds but I suppose 20+ years have passed since GHD infiltrated the market.Before spending loads of money on a top of the range one, give this a try, especially if it’s on offer. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.Edit: I’m now nearly 8 weeks in, and my hair still loves this straightener. I wondered if the honeymoon period would wear off, but it hasn’t! And the best of it is, I haven’t had to do anything to my hair (other than brush it) since I washed it (and blow dried and straightened it) two days ago. That was unheard of before I owned this :)Edit: May 2025. It’s almost 11 months since I purchased this and I still stand by how amazing it is. The condition of my hair is the best it’s ever been. I don’t need to re straighten or wave my hair every day like I did with my GHDs; it stays straight or wavy (however I have styled it) until it’s washed again. And the condition of my hair after washing and drying is much better than it’s ever been. My hairdresser has noticed a huge improvement in my hair too.

These hair straighteners are a must have. Very reasonably priced. I wasn’t expecting much for the price but they straighten my thick curly hair in 15/20 mins when previously I had always used GHds which took 45 minutes at least.I love the wide plate and the different temperatures you can select depending on your hair type. They even get my hair straighter and smoother than the GHDs!

I have been team GHD for 25 years.. I had rave reviews about these and thought that for £20 I’d give them a shot.They heat up quickly, my hair feels amazing- these straighteners have glided through my hair and I am very impressed.My only criticism is that they get hot where you hold them.

I was blown away the first time i used these, theu perform like ghds. It's great that they have a lock setting, wider plates, a good variety of temperature settings to meet all different hair types and comes in a cute storage case for on the go or holidays. My hair now looks shiny and healthy but also kept straight for so much longer than my old pair of straightener. I wouldn't use any others now they're amazing!
