Hi, the cover is made of plastic but not al all flimsy and the dish that you put the sugar in is made out of some sort of non stick metal? It's quite robust I've used mine loads and the kids love it! Hope that helps.

Q: Could I use this for a party to make around 30 sticks in one go? How long does it take to make 1?

Thank you for the enquiry. It takes around 4 minutes or so for the sugar to melt, and then a minute or so one the candy floss is created. It really is only designed to make a couple at a time however. You would need to let the item cool after each batch so probably not ideal for the use you have in mind.

Hi. The floss maker comes with some sicks, if you run out you can buy more on line or use BBQ wooden sticks. You can use normal suger which comes out white in colour or again you can buy online different flavours/colours in small amounts.
