In summary; This is a battery maintainer. It will monitor and maintain the health of your vehicles battery to ensure it does not deplete or overcharge. This will prolong the life of your battery and help ensure your vehicle available for you. Using the device is very simple, connect it to your battery, keep an eye on the indicators and how long each light has been illuminated, i.e. if the the maintainer hasn't moved to 'step 4' after 24 hours then there is an issue with your battery. The steps and timings are all detailed within the CTEK manual supplied. Once at Step 5 the device will happily sit and monitor / top up as required. It can be used for small or large batteries (up to 100Ah) - please ignore the other reviews here suggesting that you should spend more money for other CTEK chargers such as the MXS 5.0 etc. for larger batteries - this is simply not true. The CTEK manual confirms this support batteries up to 100Ah. I have this connected to a 70Ah - 760A battery and the 0.8 keeps the battery in perfect condition. The CTEK device does not feel warm or make any buzzing noises. I wasted too much money on cheap poor quality chargers and hours of my life messing about with heavy car batteries! I finally came to my sense and paid out the premium and i'm so sorry for not having done it sooner! When buying the CTEK the questions I asked myself was: Do I want to leave a cheap clone charger/maintainer plugged in and connected to my cars battery for 24 hours a day? Answer - No. Overcharging carries potential fire hazard. CTEK is a quality Swiss brand you can trust, in fact the battery maintainers sold by the top-end car manufacturers dealerships (Bentley, Porsche, Merc etc.. ) are actually this exact product, manufactured by CTEK and re-branded and sold by these dealerships at three times the price! Do I want to risk damaging the delicate electrical components of my vehicle? - No. Okay so this item is more expensive than some 'clones' however it is significantly cheaper than the potential damage I could do by constantly attaching and detaching a powerful 8 amp charger/maintainer to my vehicle delicate electrical circuity. The CTEK 0.8 conveniently allows me to alternate between the two batteries in my car. I have the device itself hanging on the wall. I purchased the 'CTEK Connect 2.5m Extension' to extend the range and the 'CTEK Indicator eyelet m8' so that I can conveniently attached to a second battery (as only one set of eyelets is supplied with the CTEK 0.8). A couple of 'L hooks' from the hardware store and I now have the CTEK safely attached to the wall where I can easily monitor the status of the battery. See image attached. Also using the Connect Extension also means that if the cable becomes damaged then I only have to replace that cheaper cable rather than the whole CTEK maintainer. Absolutely brilliant battery charger / conditioner which I discovered by accident as my new bike had a charging lead already fitted for one of these chargers. Compact and with all of the adapters to fit to your battery for a quick connection to your bike when not in use to keep your battery charged up. I have a sportsbike and I found that without this charger that the battery goes flat very quickly but since connecting my bike to this charger it is always ready and starts now very strongly. When first connecting this to your bikes battery it does a battery health check and then desulphates the battery to get it back to a good working condition, my battery was fine so I know that I am not wasting my time charging it and don't need a new battery, just keep it on charge when I don't use the bike and it's always good to go

Some things one just can’t do without, and for us this is one of them. We avoid using our car as much as possible - once in two weeks is about our limit! In between we keep this handy little charger plugged in and the battery has stayed in good condition throughout the two years we have had the charger. The longest we have ever left it plugged in is five weeks while we were away from home. The car started first time! Obviously this is extreme, but even if the car is ever going to be left parked for longer than a week, I think it is worth having one of these to make sure the battery is kept healthy. In my experience modern sealed batteries are less forgiving if mistreated. The charger is small and well made. Cables seem good quality and the indicator lights on the front make it easy to follow the charge cycle. I like the fact that, because we use it so often, there is a spare set of short connectors that can be left permanently connected to the battery, making it easy to just plug in the charger when needed rather than using the crocodile clips. I think if there is one criticism I have of this charger, it is that I would have liked the power lead or the battery lead to be a metre or so longer. Update: four year's on Still doing a great job. Truly one of those things that anyone that has a car should not be without. Brilliant!

Bought this as my BMW Z4 (E89) was not going to be used much over the winter and modern car batteries are soon flatten by the anti theft devices and other electronics on them when not regularly used. This version is not recommended for charging completely flat car batteries although it is ample to 'top up' healthy car batteries. Unfortunately my car's cigarette socket is not 'live' when the ignition is off so couldnt use that option. Also couldnt connect directly to the battery since the car has a low voltage detection system and connecting any charger directly to this can damage it. Fortunately the car had a jump start posts under the bonnet so had to connect to these. Only trouble was the 2 jump start posts were some distance apart and crocodile clip extension wouldnt reach until I separated the cable by gently pulling the croc clips in different directions right down to the connector. Then, I could just about reach the two jump start posts! This extension could do with being another 12 to 18 inches longer. Once connected and plugged into the mains, the relevant LEDs lit as the charger went through its sequence. I checked every 4 or 5 hours to make sure everything was ok until the CTEK went into its phased charging mode. Quite expensive compared to an 'ordinary' charger but idea for the job of keeping a battery topped up instead of frying it on an ordinary charger.

Hi quality item that charges batteries, keeps them topped up and can re-condition them too. Was a little sceptical of this last bit, but put a previously dead battery on it, and now use that as a daily. Easy to use, but read the booklet about the stages, keep an eye on progress. It's a good manual, worth following it.

CTEK is a great product, no issues with what it does. The supplier, however, did not say that they ship with UK plugs, regardless of destination marketplace. So, had to buy some adaptors from AU use.

Produit PAR-FAIT!!! J'avais longtemps hésité vu le tarif élevé, mais c'était une erreur ! Ce produit c'est juste le TOP, on sent que la batterie est analysée très profondément. J'ai même réussi à récupérer une vielle batterie que le chargeur précédent n'arrivait pas à charger. Donc je suis super heureux de cet achat, je vous le conseille chaudement. Ca vaut franchement la peine !!!.

Super gutes Gerät für die Dauer-Be-und Entladung der Batterie und damit für ihre Lebensdauer. Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Läuft jetzt seit 2 Jahren ohne Störung.
