Only the main part is glass, skimmer and bottom flow adjusting cap are plastic. I mainly got this for the skimming capability and secondarily for being see through. Skimmer is bad design. It will always sit too far out of the water so you gave to manually suck some air out with a tiny tube to reduce bouyancy making it dive half way so it actually does what it was supposed to do. All this after adjusting the bottom part for minimum flow from the bottom intake, which brings me to the second bad bit: the bottom flow adjusting cap, which you can barely insert then its next to imposible to twist for actually adjusting. You have to take the whole thing out of the water to get a proper grip and even its a pain. Back ti the skimmer, after much fiddling I managed to sit it right so it does some skimming (minimal), I left it like that and after a day or so I would find it sunk completly under water so I would have to repeat the process of setting it up. Eventually, after having done that a few times I found out that while it was submerged a couple of my Rasboras were sucked into the filter.After about a week of use both plastic parts (skimmer and bottom cap adjuster) were noticeable yellowish colour looking unappealing, at which point I removed the whole tging to give it a clean. Unfortunately the glass elbow snapped and rendered it all useless.I will mention this is not my first glass lilly, only my first cheap one. I guess I will go back to ADA one that I had for ages with no problems.
