At last a decent inverter
I have had a few inverters over the years withvarious results, the majority ending indisappointment. Performance not living up toclaims, lifetimes of a couple of days to 6 Monthshave been about average. This one is in a far different category. Theprice was £69.99 which is middle of the road forthis output power. It lives up to the claimedoutput of 1000 watts and it gets warm but not hotwith a load approaching 80% of it's maximumoutput. An oldish Portable TV, a powerful work light, phone and drill chargers, all can be run at oncejust to prove the point. On a more practical level the work light at500watts and a power drill of 450watts issomething that I wanted on a weekly basis andthis just does it. The twin output sockets are auseful addition taking many different plug typeslike the old 3 pin 5 amp etc.I will update this after a few weeks if needs bebut at this time I would thoroughly recommend it.It is head and shoulders above others at aroundthe same cost, even those claiming outputs of1500watts. A bonus is the 18 Month WarrantyThere is a need to consider where to install theunit in your vehicle. More on this below.I have installed it in the boot area using veryheavy wires threaded through to the battery withan isolator at the battery end.A couple of bad points to get settled is that itdoes NOT come with battery clamps nor a cigarettelighter adapter - probably would be useless - asthe socket cannot provide anywhere near theamount of current needed. So why claim to supplyit and my vehicle and yours will have batteryclamps already in place. It does come with 2 heavy duty leads with eyeletsat both ends which are about 17inches long toconnect to the battery, usually sited close tothe engine. These will most likely be quite useless as it notrecommended to instal in a temperature above 45c.This would be readily exceeded as soon as theengine warmed up and remember with the currentdraw - around 75amps - you do need the enginerunning most of the time.
