Treasure Hunt Game

Created4kids are a fantastic company to deal with. There was a mix up caused by Amazon and I received the original gotrovo game (which was less professional and didn't come in a proper box) by mistake. I had no idea and was quite happy with the original but upon reading my first review about this game, the company realised there had been a mistake and contacted me to let me know. They also sent me the correct game, A.S.A.P and at no extra charge to myself. My son wanted a famous five themed birthday party so as well as a "kirrin island" cake and "lashings of ginger beer", we brought this game with the intention of setting a treasure hunt at his party. We had six children hunting on the day and everyone had lots of fun. The game takes a bit of setting up initially, There are a hundred printed clue cards, which you need to stick velcro dots onto the back and this does take some time but it's well worth the effort and once done, the game is easy to set up for future plays. The game is aimed at children between the ages of 3 and 8. For older kids there are word clues with a rhyme which the children have to complete in order to find out where the next clue is hidden but for younger children there are simple picture cards too so everyone can play and have fun. There are cards for both indoor and outdoor use and they are stored neatly in a generous sized cotton swag bag. There is a double sided treasure map and each side is a different map, each map has ten spaces for clues where the children attach the cards to the map when found. Both the cards and the map are of very good quality so will stand plenty of repeat play, they are a kind of wipe clean card which with my three year old, I have found very handy! They provide gold coins to hide along the way, we haven't used them but it could make trails more interesting if you wanted to. They also provide a gold coloured plastic tray which you can fill with sweets if you wish or if you turn it upside down, it looks like a bar of gold. The tray is quite flimsy and I suspect that it will break after a couple of plays but it isn't hugely important to the fun of the game, I think kids prefer to hunt for some proper treasure like sweets or a small toy. All in all this is a very unique and thoughtfully put together game and it has enabled my children to have the fun of completing old fashioned treasure hunts without the stress for me. I highly recommend this game and can't wait to lay another trail at Easter! We also brought the gotrovo mini games as party bag fillers for the kids attending the party to go home with and they were also a big hit with both the kids and the parents. This has been great value, lots of fun and I certainly don't resent buying it. Thankyou Gotrovo for a brilliant game and first class customer service!

Awesome game for little ones. Requires lots of activities, work in team and looking for clues. Can be played incide and outside. Good value of money. Good game for off screen activities.

This is a great product. My daughter got it for Christmas (after asking for "a treasure map") and I'm now listing various friends we could give a set to. It must have been designed by a teacher, or at least road-tested lots of times because it does exactly what you would want it to do. For example: - the cards are plasticky (like playing cards) so they are water resistant for placing in the garden; - the gold coins are an exciting treasure at the end - they are kept in a red, drawstring pouch but there's also a gold bar box which you could place them in or replace them with something else (e.g. chocolate) which is easier to spot; - the cards are very adaptable. I was sceptical about how relevant it would be for every family, but the items are carefully chosen to be generic (e.g. bike, flower, phone, TV) and everyone would find they had enough of the them in their house/garden to make at least one trail; - they're reusable - there are so many cards that we have played it a lot but haven't done the same trail twice; - the treasure map looks really exciting and you carry it round the house and stick your cards on as you find them - the cards are well differentiated for every age: pictures, words and pictures, and then full blown riddles. But even the riddles are doable (my bright four year old can work them out because of the rhyme but an older child wouldn't be patronised). There is lots more I could say, since I keep thinking of new ways to get the most out of it, but suffice to say that I'm delighted we were given it and it would be a great present for families who like to do stuff together.

My 4 year old son loves his treasure hunt game. I love the simplicity of it, it's easy to set up and my son looks forward to the surprise in his treasure at the end. I have access to a laminating machine so I think I will laminate the picture cards for longevity. I also thought about taking photos of places in our home and turnng the pictures into cards to personalise the game. As you collect each clue card they attach to the map, I like this idea as it saves them getting lost and helps the child understand how the game is going, it is also good for number recognition. I think the game is well thought out and well made. It made a perfect Easter gift and lasted much longer and was more fun than a chocolate egg.

My two children (2.5 and 6) enjoy this a great deal. Could I have thought to prepare a treasure hunt myself? Probably. Could I have been bother to prepare tokens, clues etc.? Probably not. We can't wait for the weather to get better so we can hide clues outside too. I've certainly shed a few pounds climbing up and down the stairs multiple times as I hide the clues sequentially (my brain doesn't seem to cope unless I hide them in order!). My children are forever asking for another treasure hunt. What I also think is great is the fact that the clues come as pictures (great for little one) and rhyming text (excellent encouraging the older one to practise his reading).

My two girls aged 3 and 5 just love this game. Whenever they have new friends over it works perfectly as a nice icebreaker activity to get them aquainted and playing together.

E' un gioco molto divertente per organizzare rapidamente una caccia al tesoro in casa o in giardino. Le carte degli indizi possono contenere immagini (per i più piccoli), parole o indovinelli. La lingua è l'inglese, e il gioco è adatto ai bambini bilingue o ai bambini che imparano l'inglese a scuola o possono essere aiutati dai familiari. L'ho sperimentato con i miei nipotini che adorano i giochi di caccia al tesoro. C'è anche una modalità di gioco di ruolo: le carte indicano luoghi di fantasia e i bambini devono immaginare quali potrebbero essere questi luoghi di fantasia nel loro spazio domestico, nel giardino o nel parco. Le carte offrono molti spunti e non è necessario seguire alla lettera le istruzioni di gioco. I pallini autoadesivi nella confezione sono piuttosto scomodi e non li abbiamo usati.

This is a great game. It is a scavenger hunt type game, so I'm sure you could make your own, but this makes it soooo simple. I have a "just turned 7" and "about to turn 3" year old. There a picture clues and riddle type clues so that it is easy for the 3 year old, but also a little challenging for the 7 year old, but they can still play TOGETHER!!!! They had so much fun running around the house searching for the clues. There are a lot of picture cards, but only 30 of the written clues, so I wish there was so more of those, but it is still sooo much fun. The clues are things that you might only have one of, like a washing machine, or multiples, like window. This is great because even if you do multiple games in a row and use some of the same cards, you can just change which window you put it in. It's hard to play a game with both my boys at this age where they both have lots of fun. The almost 3 year old will lose interest, and move pieces, and knock things over, which frustrates 7. This game gave the opportunity to play together for a common goal of finding a treasure together. It was great for everyone!

This is the 2nd Treasure Hunt game I have purchased for two sets of grandchildren in different cities. It is easy to play and the little ones love dashing through the house (or yard in the summer) looking for the clue cards so they can collect their treasures along the way to finding the treasure box at the end (which always contains a favourite treat of some sort!). The adults have as much fun as the little ones watching them enjoy their excitement of the hunt. This is a great game for your own family or as a gift - especially for those times when you’re stuck in the house and need to burn off a little energy. Game is well made and worth every penny. Highly recommend.
