A very drinkable espresso
I ran out of beans yesterday so I ordered 500g of these via Amazon Prime. They've just arrived. Initial reactions: on opening the bag I did not detect much aroma—but I have had a cold, so maybe my nose is to blame; the beans look fabulously fat, glossy and dark. I grind by hand, so I decanted a fistful of beans into my grinder. As soon as I began grinding I noticed they sound oily; they feel oily too, making it a very easy grind. The machine has warmed up, so tamp, tamp, insert, 'gggggggggrrr!'It looks good in the cup: thick crema… now the taste test: certainly nutty, not bitter, but a bit weak and watery. Hmm. I think the problem is me: I made too big-an espresso. My machine doesn't switch off automatically, so that drink was somewhere between a single and a double. Next time I'll put a bit more grounds in. My hand's shaking now, so it's certainly working! Conclusion: no bitterness, good crema, the shakes; a very drinkable espresso!

Great credentials - shame about the flavour
Great credentials, snazzy name, attractive beans with a promising aroma, what's not to like? The flavour :( Where's the "Gourmet" taste? Perhaps they mean only a few people will find anything to praise this product for?Checked the use-by - "Mar 019".I suggest trying the small pack (which wasn't available when i ordered) and see if you like it.

"Dherai ramro cha" - It is excellent!
Excellent! I bought the beans for my dad to use in his machine and he loves the coffee - lovely and strong, and reminds him of his trip to Nepal. A great find! Prompt delivery. My friend tried Jalpa Gold, also from this company, and was equally impressed. Will buy again.
