POWERCAP LED Hat 25/10 Ultra-Bright Hands Free Lighted Battery Powered Headlamp – Unstructured Canvas

I have used powercaps for years. Pretty much every day, actually. The old ones had a three position switch--one click for some light, two for other lights and three for all the lights. With this cap it is one click for all on, on click for all off. It is like they read my mind. I can be kinda simple like that. So much better.I use these caps till they fall apart. I wash them in oxyclean, I dry them in the sun, I squirt them with scotchguard, I kneel on them when I want to keep--not that this happens very often--my pants clean. They are an indispensable tool for me. When I do work my edc is this hat, my multitool and sharpie. Ready to work is half the battle.

I got this cap because I have to go out at night to feed animals and close up the chicken coop; an extra free hand comes in really handy. First, the cap had no batteries, in spite of having a label that said ‘Try Me’ with an arrow. I just happened to have two extra of the right size, pure luck. Second, the cap is very dim. I wasn’t expecting flashlight brightness, but this is basically on the glowstick level. I couldn’t even see newly-woven spider webs in my path which is a deal-breaker. Good idea, but needs to be brighter.

The direction of light is fine for walking my dog at night. The lights are not very bright. Perhaps the batteries were not fresh.

I put some filson wax on this hat to weather proof it and its my go to work hat.

Lighting is ok. If you have long hair and wear up in ponytail hat does not sit right on head.

Ordered a black hat., not black with grey highlights... (probably wouldn’t mind if the top was completely black, but the tiny grey holes on top just look terrible)
