Very helpful basic overview
As a revert, I find this particularly helpful to understand where as I stand as a woman. It is a basic overview of all the key points we would need to know - if you wanted to look deeper into a topic afterwards, this book still offers a good foundation to start. I think the author did a good job at discussing these topics tactfully and fairly. It would be good if this book could be updated somewhat, a new edition, with modern matters facing us today. The book was written in the 1990s and, although the religious implications are eternal, the author writes about matters to contend with in society which are clearly outdated. Two examples that particularly struck me:1) Videos, when we are now in an age of streaming, social media, and the Internet.2) What to wear when swimming if you want to be hijab - nowadays there are plenty of specialist hijab/Islamic swimsuit companies to choose from.I wonder if someone with no knowledge at all of Islam would understand this book as easily, but there is a glossary at the back for most of the terminology you are likely to encounter. But, overall, a very helpful, handy book, and I would certainly recommend to reverts, or anyone who wants a little more insight or basic understanding.

Great for a muslim woman in a non muslim country
This book was written by a British convert to Islam and is specified towards people who find day to day difficulties in being muslim in a western country. One great point she mentions is regarding a woman's hijab which is intended to deflect attention. Although the abaya works great in the gulf and the shalwar khamees works well in the indian sub, it can serve the opposite purpose in the west, attracting attention to you.Its a tiny book, great for referring back to and realizing that you're not alone in your struggles!

really good
As a convert it is always a real hassle trying to find authors with correct information. This book is great, it covers things I have and havo not though about and given me more insight. As a british muslim it can be difficult to understand the standard of living and you ask yourself why?this book covers your doubts, questions and fustrations in a short and smart clever way. Glad I bought it

... would contain the rules of how to lead a good Muslim life as women
I bought this book as I thought this would contain the rules of how to lead a good Muslim life as women. It covers some topics but mainly is just a summary of a woman's opinion. A good read but not really helpful if your looking for a text book to refer to for the requirements of a woman's role and expectations in Islam

Good For A Beginner Especially...
Huda Khattab did a brilliant job introducing Islam here. Simple to understand. This book is a very good book especially for reverts or people who simply want to know bit more about Islam. Very handy too when it is in a kindle form. You do not have to carry the book itself! All in all, a very good buy...
